It's Been a Year Filled with FUN for The 2011 National American Miss North Texas Princess!

WOW! It was
so exciting hearing my name called as the 2011 North Texas Princess! I can’t
believe a year has passed! I represented my title this year by volunteering
with Emily’s Smile Boxes and the Tarrant County Buddy Walk. I had a blast with
my Sister Queens at the State Fair of Texas. But the highlight of my year was
my trip to Nationals! I went to Disneyland, Hollywood & had a great time on
the beach!  I won a trophy for my
scrapbook and got a Spirit Stick! The best part was making memories and friendships
that will last forever!

To Steve
& Kathleen, all the judges and the wonderful NAM staff – Thank you for this
amazing opportunity! To Heather, Maegan, Big Kendyl, Gabriela and Little
Kendall – I am so lucky to have you 5 amazing girls as my Big Sister
Queens!  I was an only girl with 3 big
brothers, but now I have 5 big sisters to call my own forever! Thank you for always
making me feel so special! To my friends & family, thank you for your love
& support! Extra Special Thanks to Ms. Chrissy, Ms. Deborah and Delaney for
encouraging Mommy to enter me in my first NAM pageant. You 3 mean so much to us!
I wouldn’t be here at all without you
guys!  To my 3 big brothers: Ian, Alec,
and Colin – thank you for cheering for me & putting up with all of my girly
stuff. I love you guys and I’m so lucky to have my own personal bodyguards for
life! To Mommy & Daddy – Thank you for your love and support and encouraging
me to work hard to make my dreams come true. I love you both to the moon &
back!

To the new 2012
North Texas Princess  – get ready for the
time of your life!  Cherish every moment
because it goes by way too fast. It’s always nice to be important, but it’s
more important to be nice! Use your year to make the world a
better place for someone else…then: Remember not to cry because it’s over, but
smile because it happened! For the last time, I’m your 2011 National American
Miss North Texas Princess, Claire Wisdom.

Year in Review for Keanna Whisenhunt

KEANNA WHISENHUNT

Wow! This
year has gone by so fast! I couldn’t believe it when I was crowned 2011 Miss
Texas Junior Teen Cover Girl. This has been such a blessing and a great
opportunity. To start off my year, I attended the North Texas pageant in
Dallas. I had a blast, hanging out with my sister queens and helping out at
events.

During my reign, I volunteered with the Children’s Hunger
Fund and the San Antonio Food Bank, and walked for Cure Search for Children’s
Cancer, and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Walk.

I had the time of my life at Nationals during November in
Anaheim, California. From the 70s party to the day at Disney, the fun never
stopped. I reunited with friends and made many more. I was excited to return
home with the title of National Cover Girl!

I also attended Texas open calls in April. They were so much
fun.

First off I give thanks to God for blessing me with this
opportunity. I want to thank the state directors, Steve and Kathleen Mayes, and
the staff for creating such an incredible organization. I also want to thank my
wonderful parents and family for their support and all they do. To my brother
Kevin, you may not have liked hearing me rehearse, but you make a pretty good
escort, and you always make me laugh.

To my amazing sister queens, it has been a great year
reigning with all of you. Whether we were taking fun photos, or just dancing
backstage, there has never been a dull moment. Don’t ever change, and I love
you all.

And finally, to my successor, an exciting year lies ahead.
Wear that crown well, and have fun. Remember to cherish the memories and
capture every moment. Be yourself and let your light shine.

and for the last time, here I stand: Your 2011 Miss Texas
Junior Teen Cover Girl, KeAnna Whisenhunt

It's Been an Outstanding year for an Outstanding Rolemodel !

To everyone,

WOW! Who
would have guessed one year ago that I would become the 2011 Texas Jr. Teen! Not
me ... Lol! It has been such an honor to represent our great state of Texas
this past year.   National American Miss
has touched my life in so many ways, although winning was the highlight of my
pageant weekend, I have gained so much more.
I have had a blast meeting girls across the country, and met my lifelong
sisters, partners in crime, my new BFF's Angelle, Samantha, and Mary-Grace. I
have also conquered my fear of public speaking, grown in leadership by working
side by side with the staff and choreographers, and learned that giving back to
others is the greatest joy of all.

I have
been very busy this year volunteering with many charities, such as  Light The Night Walk where  I helped raise over $100,000 for the Leukemia
and Lymphoma Society,  the Project Hero
fundraiser where our community gave back to provide a home for a disabled
veteran,  baked and served cupcakes to
eager young faces at the Salvation Army homeless shelter and I continued
sharing my heart weekly with the Shining Stars, a special needs dance team that
has been dear to my heart for the last 4 years.

A couple
of special thank you's: I truly thank God for blessing me with this opportunity
to become a role model to girls across the nation. Steve and Kathleen Mays and
Nam staff, thank you so much for this unforgettable opportunity . I have truly
grown in more ways than I could have ever imagined.  To my Mom, Dad and my brother Russell, Thank
you for always being there for me and for supporting me through everything I
do. I don
t say it enough but I really
do appreciate all you sacrifice for me! I love you guys! And finally to my #1
fan, my Pops! Thank you for always believing in me. You are always there at
every pageant and ready to cheer me on! You are the best grandpa any girl could
ask for! I know Nana would be proud of me! I love you Pops!

Ladies ....I would like to leave you with the
top 3 things that I have learned this year that I will never forget .

1.    Keep God first . Trust him .
He definitely has a unique plan for your life.

2.    Take a risk . Try something
new.  Each time you put yourself out
there you grow in self esteem, public speaking and poise.

3.     Enjoy being you. There's a quote that says
", Why be a copy when you can have the original ?"

If youre at the Texas pageant, stop by and say
"Hi".  I'll be the girl with
banner and the crown.

Well...
One of  them :)

& much love,

It's a Top Five Finish for The 2010 Natinal American Miss Texas PreTeen

Briana Tatum
2010 Miss North Texas Pre-Teen Queen

Oh My Gosh!  I can’t believe that my year as the 2010 Miss Texas Pre-Teen has come to an end.  This has been my best pageant year ever!!!  Not only did I place top five in the Casual Wear optional contest at the National Pageant, but I was also named 4th runner-up to National title.  Hollywood, California was so much fun! I was able to hang out with my family and sister queens at Disneyland, during the Hollywood Tour, and at the beach.

During my reign, my community service involved serving lunch to residents at a nursing home, serving dinner to parents of severely ill children at a local Ronald McDonald house, and continuing my community service platform for “Meals On Wheels.”  I was also a spokesperson to recruit more volunteers for this organization by appearing live with a local radio station d.j. for 94.5 K-Soul.  But my favorite community involvement was passing out backpacks stuffed with school supplies during a “Back-to-School” fair with my big sister queen Liz Pospisil the “2010 Miss Texas Jr. Pre-Teen Queen.”  I was also able to travel to the South Texas and Oklahoma pageant with my little sister queens Addie Thompson and Jaci Walker.  You guys made traveling so much fun!

Before I say goodbye, I want to thank Mr. and Mrs. Mayes for the “BEST” pageant organization for young girls.  Thank you to Mrs. LaKishia Edwards, Ms. Tiffany Saylor, Mrs. Tiffany Hague, Mrs. Palmgren, Ms. Blackwell, and everyone at NAM for their kind, and loving spirits.  To Ms. Joy Suprano, the BEST emcee ever! To Ms. Suzie; Thank you for making me the elegant, young lady that I am today. To Ms. Ravayna and David; the BEST pageant friends ever! To Ms. Margaret Allings; the BEST fashion designer in the USA! To Aunt Tangie; the BEST hairstylist in Texas.  To my Grandma, Uncle Ren, and Aunt Cat for helping me to get to Nationals.  To all of my family and friends who helped make this journey a great memory.  To the BEST parents in the universe.  I LOVE YOU so very much! And to my big 3 brothers, the BEST cheerleaders in the world.  And to my successor, may this be your BEST pageant year ever!

Sincerely,

 Briana Marie Tatum

It's Been a Fantastic Year for the 2010 National American Miss Texas Princess Addie Thompson!

Addie Thompson
2010-2011 National American Miss Texas Princess

Dear Contestants,

What an amazing year this has been representing the Lone Star State.

I have had so many opportunities to serve in my community.  I volunteered for the North Texas Buddy Walk to help raise money for research and education for children with Down’s syndrome.  I also attended to National Health and Safety Fair to promote health and safety in communities. I appeared in many local parades and I even got to participate in the Texas State Fair.  I also enjoyed my trip to Nationals in sunny California.  What a magical day at Disneyland I had with my sister queens and family.

As my reign comes to an end, I want to thank National American Miss for providing this opportunity.  I have had the time of my life and met so many new friends.  Thank you to my family for taking this journey with me.  Finally, I want the thanks Jesus for everything in my life…through Him all things are possible.

Your 2010-2011 National American Miss Texas Princess,

Addie Thompson

It's Been a Fabulous Year for the 2010 National American Miss Pre-Teen Mikayla Childs

Dear Contestants and Families:

Wow! What a year I have had. I have been here in Houston many times, competing just like you.  Winning the crown for the first time last year was an Amazing experience.  God has a plan for each and every one of us.  This year I have gotten to make several appearances as the Texas Preteen Queen.  I helped at “Dress a girl around the world”, where we took ordinary pillowcases and made them into beautiful dresses to give to little girls all over the world who had none.  I volunteered at the Houston Rodeo with my Mom and Dad, and I helped with Texas Open calls.  I was also in several parades in our area.
Nationals was a Blast!! Disney was fun, Hollywood was Amazing, and California was just Awesome!!!  I have made so many new friends and was able to hang out with many of my old friends.  I Won 4th runner up Casual Wear and 2nd runner up Most Promising Model.  It was a Great Experience!!
