Gamin' NEWS! Good: Segas, Bad: DOAs, Ugly: Payne...

And here's some new news regarding upcoming games, straight from this year's TGS!
Also, other miscellaneous information.
First up, Sega shows some more of its upcoming titles.

Like Sonic Generations.
I already posted lots of stuff regarding this return in form to the Sonic series. But so few info about the handheld 3DS port. Let's check it out!

And it looks fantastic!
A good alternative to the main systems HD version for sure!
And it will even have some bonus content like Sonic 3's Mushroom Hill Zone!
Nice^^

And here's a look at Madworld's pseudo-sequel, Anarchy Reigns!
The solo/storymode to be precise, which will actually really act as a sequel to Madworld:

Cool stuff.
The game will be out in January, next year. And it's nice to see again all these faces back from Madworld, Jack, the Baron, etc...
Though I miss Madworld's creative art style. (in black and white, no colors thank you~)

Meanwhile at the TGS, Tecmo revealed the upcoming new entry in their long-running classic fighting game series, Dead or Alive 5!

This game will mark the first DOA entry without series creator Tomonobu Itagaki on board.
(well, second if you count that PSP port of one of the "minigames party" DOA...hum..)
Good... bad... Only time will tell.
Also,  with fighting games being all popular these last couple of years + finally a multi-console DOA, I'm guessing this game will be the starting point for many newcomers to the series.

Here's the trailer...

Looks cool..as far as early in-game gameplay footage go.
Dynamic cameras, really? Or was it just for show in this video?

Graphically it doesn't look that far from DoA 4... Wait and see!
And here's a teaser poster, worry not the gals will be back too:

The title is planned for a 2012 release on 360 and PS3.

And in case you forgot about Tecmo/Team Ninja's other successful franchise, the Ninja Gaiden series will also be brought back Itagaki-less in the aptly named Ninja Gaiden 3.

And this time no "Sigma" since this game will be simultaneously released on Xbox 360 AND PS3!

Finally, let's have a look at Rockstar ruining another game series I like.
I know, I know...there's lots of R* fans out there...
I already went large in details why I didn't like what they do to games nowadays, specially regarding a little game I liked in the past.
I know lots of kids think they're game are all cool and mature (hint: violence+bllod =/= mature, that's what kids think, not what the reality is for adults). But I'm so tired of their GTA-ization of non-GTA games...

ANYWAYS!
Here's Max Payne 3. A game that looks and feels nothing like both previous Max Panye games co-developed by 3DRealms and Remedy. Which was a noir-esque action movie-like experience.
Turned into a mindless cover-shooter based GTA-like generic mainstream title:

You know what? I could have easily accepted this new game if it was something new and original. And different IP.
Like this it just looks like they're trying to sell their random new product under a familiar and liked name....
Kinda how it would be if their last game, L.A.Noir, had been called, say, "Streets of Rage 4" for example.

E3 NEWS! lots MOAR trailers PartII

Here's a bunch of new trailers from some announcement straight from this year's E3 expo :P
(with my own comments and view on all that)
First off, let's start with Ninja Gaiden 3. The first modern NG to be made by the new Team Ninja without its ol' chief Itagaki, and Tecmo.

Looks decent enough so far. Kinda good looking hack & slash game.
And the first one to be uncensored on the PS3 (so far all PS3 NG conversions had been cut on the bloody aspect)
Kinda generic, but I'm sure fans will like this one.

And now, some gameplay footage from Bethesda Softworks & id Software first game under new partnership, RAGE!

Nice, very nice!
Love how iD updated their engine.
Looking deep, beautiful and quite fun. Hope it doesn't get boring or too gimmicky near its second half (of the game).

Meanwhile Peter Molyneux gets creative with his franchise and offers us this interview:

I've never been interested much in this series, but with Fable: The Journey it seems Microsoft Game Studios and Lionhead Studiosare trying to destroy a series with some potential into a generic Kinect kiddie rail shooter... And a poorly inspired one at that :P

And now, the launch trailer for Techland's Dead Island!

A very interesting zombie game that I'd suggest you keep an eye on :P
Not quite "multiplayer random" like L4D (which is good enough for what it is, calm down L4D fans!!).
Not quite "single player sandbox" like the Dead Rising games.
Seems like a good mix of both. And some survival aspects to it (few ammo to manage, scarce health around, etc..)

Microsoft continues to try selling us their Kinect, now with some more actual games
and
licenses!

It's Kinect Star Wars!
It's a bit laggy!
It's probably just a cutscene playing on the background with a guy mimicking/making us think he's actually playing.
Anyway, as much a fan of SW as I am, you'll need to do much better than that to convert me to Kinect. *goes back to playing Master System Star Wars*

Here's the first gameplay video ever of the upcoming rebooted Tomb Raider in the hands of Square Enix. (with Crystal Dynamics still working on the game itself)

Alright this looks lovely, graphically speaking.
But let's be honest.. this isn't Tomb Raider anymore! (and I wasn't that a big fan of this series anyway! apart from all 3 Crystal Dynamics modern games)
It isn't simply a platforming game anymore. But a survival horror. Which makes this game seem even more generic (that's what I say when they force down franchises on different paths..)
Why didn't they call this "Lara Croft and the ..." something-something like the Xbox live spinoff, or simply "Lara Croft".
Ugh...

On HALO's side, Microsoft Game Studios thinks it's time to remember us that the Halo franchise exists...with a remake of the Xbox original in Halo Anniversary!

Was it really necessary? I doubt it...
But this generation seems to have a problem checking past work, just see how many reboots/remakes there is, across any medium!
Specially with the original being not that far graphically (it isn't a PS1 game you know!) and being fully playable on any Xbox 360... (AND it being available on the Xbox live/PC as well...)
At least they said it won't be full price.

But don't worry, if a fully priced new game is what you want...

Here's Halo 4!
The first one not being developed by creator studio Bungie.
What annoys me already (in this gaming market saturated by unoriginal ideas and sequels): It's the dawn of a new trilogy.
Fanboys cry, kids weep, llamas graze.

Here's to change our ideas:

Twisted Pixel's Ms. 'Splosion Man overview trailer!
Fun, looking awesome.

(E3 trailers to be continued....)

Gamin' NEWS! Ninja Gaiden III Teases

Who's back?

Ryu's back! That's who!
And judging from this teaser poster, bloodier than ever.
At least, that's the message Tecmo's trying to suggest from this picture above.
To calm down PS3 owners after a censored port?

Anyway, Ryu Hayabusa will be back in Ninja Gaiden IIIsomething later this year. (next winter?)
This time under the creative direction of an Itagaki-less Team Ninja.

Will it be as good as the last 2 games? Will be as hardcore as the original retro trilogy?
Only time will tell, for now, enjoy this little teaser:

More info this E3, like the vid' sez!
