What is your Favorite NAM Memory ?

Each and every girl at National American Miss has a story to tell ! At each state pageant we want you to take way too many pictures, make friendships that last forever and memories that last a lifetime ! Check out what NAM Girls had to say !!

What is your favorite NAM memory?

Heidi Gough Ohio- Mom of Contestant I would like to  think ours was watching her daddy escort her on stage!! I loved it !!! :)

Mara Lyman Ohio- My favorite NAM memory was when i heard Kristen Nguyen got called the winner because she was really good! She deserved it!

Paige Riachy Ohio- My favorite NAM memory was seeing all my new friends and all the confidence that we all got through out the whole weekend!

Kayla Elaine Schelling- Not excatly my favorite... But when I was 11, I competed in my first NAM pageant ever! They were announcing the top 20 semifinalists, and my name was called! Unfortunatedly, I didn't hear it! So I ended up delaying the show for five minutes until my parents came near the front of the stage and got my attention. Oops!

Lloydian Dossen- my favorite NAM memory was hearing all of the inspiring speeches from all of the Queens. national american miss is a great life expierence. your never to young and your never to old to be a PRINCESS ♥ ! hahaha=)

Shellye Echeverria New Jersey- My favorite NAM moment was when My parents and sister hugged me after the finale. I felt I accomplished many things and the pageant made me a self confident girl!

Madison Bosack Pennsylvania- My favorite National American Miss memory was just being myself. I didnt have to be anyone else! You don't look like a Barbie, and when you go on stage...you feel great. When your at National American Miss, you feel so beautiful, and there is no better feeling than that! National American Miss was a great experience, and boosted my self confidence. I love you National American Miss!

Katherine Guevarra New York- Apart from winning my state teen queen's title my favorite NAM memory was meeting two of my best friends in 2006 at my second NAM pageant, Claudette and Lisa. We are still close to this day thanks to NAM.

Sydney Dillon Ohio-I loved every single moment of the past 2 NAM pageants I have done, but I have to say one of my proudest was winning Miss Spirit 1st Runner-Up because my goal going into this year's pageant was just to get some kind of thro...phy,since 2009 was my first ever pageant and I had NO idea what to do.I just went into with the mentality ''I'm gonna do it and do my best'',and I did great and was just ME,I didn't look fake,no girl did, they were just them the entire time and it was great to REAL.I did so much better and it boosted my confidence amazingly,I just love being ME,not what anyone wants me to be.And also, meeting all my AWESOME pageants friends was another amazing memory, they all rock!!:) ♥ I will NEVER forget my NAM experiences,I had THE best time the last 2 times,I love NAM!!!:)

Charika Jordan Alabama- When I won Miss Alabama and I thought that I wouldn't win because there was a lot of good competition and my favorite memory is when I met all my friends

Meagan Williams North Carolina -My favorite Memory was at this years pageant i had actually tricked my parents into thinking i didnt write them a thank you note this year (i actually did) after getting first runner up best thank you note i...n 2008, they were expecting one again, it wasnt until we checked into our hotel i gave it to them, my dad started crying after reading it :'( haha :) he really loved it and i have to admit that after then my weekend was already complete :) This year i won best thank you note of 306 girls in my age group, it was pretty fabulous :D I also was honored to be in the top 15 in my division and won 3rd runner up spokesmodel :) Im so excited for next year and ive already started on my introduction lol :) See More

Kaiden Maines North Texas- I've competed for the last 5years for a NAM title being in the court every year I was so excited to be crowned miss Texas pre teen 2009(: and this past July I had to give up my title! I was sad to let it go...but was so extremely Happy to crown the miss Texas 2010 , Brianna Tatum(: I can't wait for a fabulous 5 more years to come♥

Sydney Price Georgia- I have tons of wonderful NAM memories, but this one really comes to mind. This past year at the NAM GA Teen pageant, I was called last in the Top 20 (again!) and so I was definitely excited. As we got ready to go onstage for crowning, I was... anxious to see who I would walk out on stage with. When I got up to the steps, the last person on the other side was one of my best friends! When we got onstage we both started crying and grabbed hands and walked out together (my mom was totally crying at this point). I was so happy to be able to share that moment with one of my best friends :)

Caity Spinola New Jersey- meeting everyone and learning the dance number

Lydra Sahou New Jersey-My favorite memory is you just Have to be yourself. Not a barbie type girl, with makeup thick as glue. Just kidding. I also liked the escort part because my dad said he couldnt make it and he came. I was so happy.Made ...Lots Of Friends. And Most Of Them Im Still In Contact With. YAY!

Mikayla Childs South Texas- My favorite memory is All my new and old friends were with me when they called my name as Preteen Queen!! I Love National American Miss, It was my 7th year to participate and I just was so overwelmed I just cried..... tears of Joy!! It has been so much Fun making appearances and preparing for Nationals in November!! So this is from me - Never give up!! Your time will Come!! Thank you National American Miss!!

Kayla Da Cruz New Jersey- I have so many great memories, but if I had to choose one I would choose the first year I competed in National American Miss. I was 7 years old and very shy. I was so scared of being up on stage and giving my introduction, but I did it and it made me feel so proud! I made so many friends that weekend, I am still friends with them today. Most of all I remember the pride in my moms face when I was called top 15. I didn't need to win the crown for my mom to be proud of me, she was proud because I had tried new things and did it with confidence. Today thanks to NAM, I am a confident 11 year old full of hopes and dreams. Today I am the 2010 NJ Pre Teen and so proud! Nationals here I come!!Thank you National American Miss!

Cynthia Rodriguez New York- Everything but since I have to pick 1, my favorite NAM memory is the 70's party (dressing up, meeting new friends, playing & dancing). It was so much fun!

Faith Jackson New York -My favorite Nam memory would be making new friends and signing autograph books.I remember when i started three years ago i was'nt able to write well looking back at autographs i signed when i was five i have no clue what the words were but i got better over the years. Now i sign autograph books with the confidence Nam instill in me.Thanks Namiss!!!!

Meet The 09 NAM Alabama Princess and 1st runner up to the National Title MaKenzie Ward !!!

Tiffany:What do you like to do for fun?

MaKenzie: My favorite thing to do for fun is DANCE! I love ballet, tap, jazz, and clogging. I also like to swim, have sleepovers with my friends, and do crafts with my mom and sister.

Tiffany: What does your title of NAM Alabama Princess mean to you?
MaKenzie: It means I get a chance to let my light shine! I get to travel and help other state finalist as they compete. It means I am a role model for others and do my best to set a good example.

Tiffany:What is your favorite part of National American Miss?

MaKenzie:It’s hard to pick a favorite part because everything is so much fun…from the parties, to the competitions! But one of the things I love most about National American Miss is that it is like one big family! Even when I travel to other state pageants, everyone treats me like their little sister.

Tiffany: What do you want to be when you grow up?

MaKenzie: I want to be a fashion designer and have my own “MaKenzie“ clothing line.

Tiffany:What activities are you involved in?

MaKenzie: I am very involved at my church and I sing on the children’s worship team. I love to volunteer at a local nursing home each month. I take dance, piano, and guitar and I’m also a cheerleader at my school.

Tiffany: If you could star in any TV show what would it be?

MaKenzie: It would have to be "Suite Life with Zack and Cody". It’s a hilarious show and it looks like they have a lot of fun.

Tiffany:Who is your favorite Disney Princess?

MaKenzie:My favorite Disney Princess is Belle from “Beauty and the Beast“. She is kind and always uses her best manners. She always has her nose in a book, just like I do!

Tiffany: What is your favorite food?

MaKenzie: My favorite food is my mom’s red beans and rice. It is spicy and delish!

Tiffany: If you had three wishes, what would you wish for?

MaKenzie:(1) I would wish that everyone would know God (2) That everyone would have food and shelter. (3) To be the best “me” I can be!

Tiffany:What is your favorite pageant competition?

MaKenzie: My favorite competition is formalwear. I love getting all dressed up and having my daddy escort me on stage. I also love the talent competition. It’s so much fun to share my talent and watch others perform.

Tiffany: What makes your state special?

MaKenzie: There are many things that make Alabama special. At the top of the list would have to be good ol’ southern hospitality! My state is also the home of the Huntsville Space and Rocket Center and beautiful sandy, white beaches…what more could you ask for?! J

Tiffany:What was your favorite part of the national pageant?
MaKenzie:Wow! I had so much fun at nationals this year! I really loved the parties, the rehearsals (getting a spirit stick!), and being on the big stage in the spotlight! My favorite part would have to be when they called my name as a finalist! That was so exciting!

Meet Tara-Nicole Azarian The 2009 National American Miss North Carolina Jr Preteen !

Lets get the scoop on the young lady that took home the NAM North Carolina Jr Preteen title last year !!! Tara-Nicole is a very busy tween with a very bright future ahead of her ! She is an all-star cheerleader and very busy actress!!! Lets get to know more about her...

Tiffany: What does your title mean to you?

Tara-Nicole: It means a great deal to me. I worked very hard to win my State NAM title! It's also an affirmation that NAM does look for "real" girls. My mom & I prepared for the pageant together. I do not have a coach, I wrote my introduction & we shopped for my clothes at regular formal stores. Me being me was all I needed to be...and that's how I think it should be! Pageants should encourage & motivate girls to be the best THEM they can be & not to try to be anyone else!

Tiffany: What activities are you involved in?

Tara-Nicole: I am an actress, I am an All-Star cheerleader, a Girl Scout, I dance & I volunteer!

Tiffany: Tell me about the up coming movie you are in.

Tara-Nicole: Well, I've been in several movies that are in post production or have been released in theaters or film festivals. My latest movie to be released is an indie film called "Judith: The Night She Stayed Home." It's a prequel to the movie "Halloween". It has received several good reviews so far & one even mentioned me!!! You can read more about it on IMDB. Also, if you know where to look for me, you can see me several times in the movie "Blood Done SIgn My Name" which is in theaters now.

Tiffany: What was it like working on set?

Tara-Nicole:Well...every set is different. Some are fast paced & high energy & others are more relaxed. Josh Hasty ("Judith" director) & Kenny Caperton ("Judith" Producer) ran a very fun, relaxed set. I loved, LOVED every second working with them....but, I happen to love working in horror films, as I find the FX (special effects) make-up fascinating. I also REALLY like films when my character is evil....ask any actor - there's nothing like playing a villain!

On the set of "The Trial" with Matthew Modine
Tiffany: What is the Movie about?

Tara-Nicole: "Judith: The Night She Stayed Home" is a backstory about the characters in the "Halloween" movie. I play Jamie Perry. I am a sweet girl from the neighborhood, who decides to trick or treat at Michael's house!

Tiffany: When can we watch it?

Tara-Nicole: The premiere for "Judith" was March 7th in Raleigh, NC. I know it's scheduled for many more screenings, but I do not have the schedule yet. I will keep you updated though! I will say that is is a film for only teens & adults to see, since it's a horror film. I do have another film in post produciton, "katy Dee, Girl Detective" & it is a family / Christian / mystery perfect for the entire family. It is a straight to DVD release & will be available sometime early summer. I will let you know as soon as I get my copy!

Filming "Judith"
Tiffany: What do you like to do for fun?

Tara-Nicole: Well...actually acting is what I love to do! And that's a good thing, because it is hard work & very time consuming. Besides acting, I totally love All-Star cheering. The gymnastics element keeps me comming back for more after every practice. My family & I are also HUGE Disney freaks & we go to Disney World in FL as often as we can. I know every inch of all 4 parks blindfolded! :o)

On the set of "Blood Done Sign My Name" with Rick Schroder

Tiffany: What do you want to be when you grow up?

Tara-Nicole: Personally: I want to be happy & successful, Professionally: I want to continue acting.

Tiffany: If you could have one wish what would it be?

Tara-Nicole: hmmmmm. Ok, if you mean a wish for me...it would be to go on one of the new Disney Cruise ships - I am dying to check out the water roller coasters the new ships have! If it's a wish for others...it would be for every child to have at least one person in his or her life that loves them to the end of time. We all need that absolute, unconditional love & support to make us good people & successful people. Kids are the future. Just think of how much could be achieved if every child had a stable home life?

Amber Aduja 09-10 National American Miss Jr Preteen spreads cheer to Military Families !

M E D I A R E L E A S E

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AMBER ADUJA SPREADS GOODWILL AND ALOHA TO TRIPLER ARMY MEDICAL CENTER PEDIATRIC WARD IN FURTHERANCE OF CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

On February 5, 2010, St. Ann’s Model Schools 5th grader Amber Aduja, National American Miss (“NAM”) Jr. Preteen Queen 2010, of Kaneohe visited the Tripler Army Medical Center (“TAMC”) Department of Pediatrics, in furtherance of her final day of the “Dividends for Life” themed Catholic Schools Week (February 1 – 5, 2010). The purpose of St. Ann’s Model School’s participation in the annual national Catholic Schools Week is to instill in their students a lifelong commitment to serving others. Through Amber’s continuous work with the Lokahi Giving Project, a Hawaii non-profit organization whose mission is to assist in-need families, and at-risk children and teens, she obtained University of Hawaii (“UH”) baseball caps to give to TAMC pediatric patients suffering from broken bones, cancer, leukemia or other illness or injury. At TAMC, Amber greeted its young patients and passed out UH baseball caps to in-patient children of the Pediatric Ward, their parents and siblings, and TAMC nurses and staff.

“It was a very rewarding experience to introduce myself to the children, their parents, and nurses; recite my NAM personal introduction to them and share my experiences as a national titleholder. It felt great to give then all UH baseball caps,” exclaimed Amber Aduja. “I hope I’ve spread the aloha spirit to our military families, especially for all their hard world peace and homeland security efforts and all the relief and development work that they are doing in Haiti,” Amber explains. “Their children can always use a cheerful visit and a gift every once in awhile to show our deep appreciation for all that their families do. All our prayers are with the military children as they recover. We wish them health and wellness,” Amber said.

“This was a very touching experience and I hope that my experience can serve as a role model for all students to make a lifelong commitment to serve others in our community,” Amber said.

What does National American Miss mean to YOU ???

National American Miss can be so many different things to NAM girls ! One of the best parts of my job is, that I get to hear different testimonies from girls all around the country !!! For many NAM is a way to meet new friends or maybe it's way for girls to build self confidence. For some NAM is a summer camp or a family getaway. For alot of girls NAM is way to prepare them for the future whether they want to be the next Disney star or maybe a Top Model or even one day run for political office. Whatever you want to be when you grow up NAM can help you achieve those goals. I love to see girls grow from year to year. I really consider it in honor to work with so many AMAZING young women across the USA! I can honestly tell you that my experience with NAM totally changed my life and it is really cool to see that change in so many girls ! NAM allows you to create family memories and challenges girls to be all that they can be !!! So I asked my facebook friends exactly what NAM means to them and here is what they had to say...

Here is the Question I asked on my Facebook Page:

Tiffany Saylor :Hey NAM girls and parents ... I have a question for you all. What does NAM mean to you ? and What is your favorite part about National American Miss ?

This is what NAM girls and Parents had to say :

Jen Swank Moser: NAM has very special deep meaning to us because it was the first thing my daughter, Lily was able to do activity wise after a year of NO activities....when she was diagnosed with a neurological disorder at age 5. We decided at the last minute to do it and she just beamed on stage. It was a HUGE boost to her self esteem. After a year filled with MRIs, EEGs, blood draws, hospital stays....it was amazing to have her so happy and excited about something. She also met her very best friend, Madeline, from doing the pageant and their family have since become like extended family to us.

My favorite part is introduction. When the girls get to really state who they are and what makes them them.

Although a close second is evening wear, after last year when my husband had just deployed to Iraq 2 weeks before and we had to find a close family friend to escort our girls, I know this year it is going to be a very sweet, sentimental, emotional moment to have him on stage in his uniform escorting our daughters.

Wow, that was a book! How about that Tiffany? LOL

Rosalind Marie Alifonso: Nam to me is an opportunity to come out of your shell. An opportunity to gain essential skills for career placement later on in life :) my absolute most favorite part about nam is the production number rehersal. all of us girls have soo much fun, and when we are learning the opening number we are all comfortable To make a mistake because it gives us all the opportunity to laugh and have fun with each contestant. Which is one of the best ways to build memories.

Charika Jordan:NAM means to me that us girls can be ourselves at pageants and not be something  that were not and we dont have to act fake we can act like our normal selves. My favorite part about NAM is when i show up and i see everyone i know and get to meet up with everyone. I also like the final because we get to show off the cool things we lean that weekend.(:

Ace Orb: for me it means not any other occasions where i can met girls the same age as i am to befriend w/ them and get to know each other. it was such a pleasure to join NAM and sharing experiences w/ other girls. As for me the best part was practicing our choreography for the final, at that time we get to have a good time dancing and talking a lot of stuff about ourselves on break time.

Alla Jawarish: the best part of NAM is allowing girls to gain valuable experiences that will help them be successful in life, come out of their shells and do things that they wouldn't necessarily do, and of course all the friendships that the girls and us moms build. looking forward to another great year with NAM and to seeing old friends and meeting new ones:)

Amy Childs: Mikayla says!! It's Fun!!and She Loves all the new and old Friends she gets to see and meet!! She has learned so many valuable tools that she needs and will need in the future.. Interview, Spokesmodel, Talent, and so much more!! She says she is already preparing for South Texas 2010 and can't wait to see you!!
