TV Spot for The Avengers "Iron Man Vs Castle"

Holy Molly!! This is probably the best "ad" for a movie I've ever seen!!
Well played, Joss Whedon! Combining Nathan Fillion!Castle with Iron Man!The Avengers - genius!! :D

Can you believe this combined ad for Avengers (just out now, about everywhere) and the awesome Castle TV series got fans imagining Nathan Fillion is Antman in the movie, all over again?
Well..me too. I'd make a perfect Hank Pym....
(but I'd still prefer if we could had him over at DC, as Hal Jordan!! >__<)

#Movies NEWS! Cabin in the Woods

Speaking of films, it seems I never posted a thing regarding Cabin in the Woods?

It's an upcoming movie being directed by Drew Goddard - a Bad Robot guy who worked on several J.J. Abrams shows like Alias or Lost and movies, including writing on Cloverfield - and written by Joss Whedon who there is no need to introduce here anymore.
Firefly? Dr. Horrible?
Sign me in!
The Cabin in the Woods has been announced as a sort of deconstruction of the horror genre and a playful tribute of the fun films of old, like the Evil Dead series or Brain Dead.
Joss Whedon imagined this movie during the production of Avengers, from which they brought Chris Hemsworth (Thor!!) from.

Whedon said he was tired of the modern torture pr0n trend which has infested horror films these last couple of years. Be it with the dozen or so Saw films and the other Cube-like movies.
This movie will poke fun at that genre and return to the genre of the 80s splatter flicks.

These torture movies are mostly an excuse to see people suffer and be tortured, rather than watching people trying to survive things triumphant.

And here's some trailers!

Looks mighty fun!
Hopefully it turns out better than Sam Raimi's own return to the genre Drag Me To Hell which left many purists unsatisfied. Personally I still have to see it, and it looked nice enough.

But Whedon movie might be better, being self-referential and a Whedon plotted movie simply!
The characters should be fun enough.

Marvel NEWS! AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!

Marvel released a bunch of new posters through their facebook page for their upcoming The Avengers by Joss Whedon.
Below, after the jump...
Here's all the characters posters, which all seem to focuse on a different character, while also keeping a 2nd one in the frame:

Click for bigger res'.

What's more to say about this?
Maria Hill's there!
Cap's new costume looks great!

I like these. It's like we're circling around the characters in the city street/in the middle of battle/during a crisis. Which sort of reminds me of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon intro. Which is great btw!

Marvel just released a brand new trailer during the latest Super Bowl.

Enjoy it:

Loud, big, epic, flashy.. it's looking fantastic so far!
And I can't wait!
After turning the previous Marvel films into quasi-trailer for the anticipation of this crossover, they better not let us down on this :/

Well, looks like I never posted the actual scene from Firefly this song was taken from.

So without further redo, here's easily one of my all-time favorite scenes from the most underrated Firefly series!

Movie NEWS! THE AVENGERS pose!

Here's a bunch of pictures from the upcoming live Avengers movie.
And yes, "that guy that isn't Hawkeye" is Bruce Banner....
So here's a bunch portraits of our heroes...

Iron Man.
Most popular of the bunch, thanks to some pretty darn' good movies.

Bruce Banner. (Hulk)

Oh no... we lost Ed Norton for this schmuck? Really?

The Black Widow.

Captain America.

Thor.
Thou shall not disrespect thee gods!!!

Hawkeye.
Guy had random cameo in Thor, now looks like this earned him a spot on the cast.
(plus having a lesser profile non-main starring in his own movie-character will help keep the budget manageable)

Here's the whole happy crew.

And here's some shots from the making of the flick:

Alright then.
Looks like everyone's having a blast!

This better turn out good!....

Movie NEWS! More shots from The Avengers movie

And here's more pictures from the making of The Avengers live movie!

Looks like they're all having a blast making it!
Loki's there too? Ooooh!

It kinda looks silly, without the movie's photography and no effects/filters, but I'm getting a sense that the Avengers are actually coming to life finally!

Movie NEWS! First shots from The Avengers movie

Here's some shots from the making of Joss Whedon's The Avengers!

The movie's coming out in May 4, 2012, so at this point it's still early in development.

Here's various pics from a scene they're filming in the streets.
Cap fighting some baddies (?).

The costume, different from Captain America's own movie.
It's a lot more modern looking. What d'you think?

Is this guy above wearing a Green Lantern shirt? XD

Motion capture. Cap's gonna face some CGi creature?

People have speculated he's facing Skrulls, from the look of the scifi gun above.

And that is all~

SDCC - First Avengers Movie posters

Marvel just released at the Comic Con the first promotional images for the upcoming live The Avengers movie!!
The movie's aiming for a May 4 release...in 2012! It is being direct by fan favorite Joss Whedon.

Including the movie's logo:

The first look at this movie's version of The Hulk:

And all the posters, in true comic book cover fashion, mixes up in this giant sized landscape picture:

Still not sure on this Hawkeye... He's quite random, specially next to Cap, Thor and co.
So this movie's villain will be what...? Skrulls? The Hulk himself? Loki?

Sing-Along Blog - So They Say

Remember Dr. Horrible?
But of course! I even reviewed the whole musical and its comic book adaptations.

Here's a song, my favorite one, from the "movie".
Why favorite? I dunno, it's just so darn' catchy. And it's the story turning point.
"There's no happy ending...so they say" How very true...
And it's also pretty funny, just check out Nathan Fillion's segment :P

"...They say you get to do the weeeeeird stuff~"

Joss Whedon doesn't suck. And hates this revoltin' development.

So, once again, Hollywood writers, running out of ideas like always, decided to remake/reboot another cult loved franchise.
This time, they're gonna reboot Buffy The Vampire Slayer without any participation from its original creator, Joss Whedon.

First, the series isn't that old come on!
(though I gotta admit...I'm not a fan really...)
Second... couldn't they let Joss on it?
It's just some random new producers, out of ideas for the past 10+ years, that probably thought "Hey!! Buffy seems popular. So it can still make some money. I want on it!! Let's remake the thing in a big blockbuster movie, hire me the cheapest writers, actors and director you can find!!"

Here's Joss Whedon own reaction from today, on E! News:
"This is a sad, sad reflection on our times, when people must feed off the carcasses of beloved stories from their youths-just because they can't think of an original idea of their own, like I did with my Avengers idea that I made up myself.
Obviously I have strong, mixed emotions about something like this. My first reaction upon hearing who was writing it was, "Whit Stillman AND Wes Anderson? This is gonna be the most sardonically adorable movie EVER." Apparently I was misinformed. Then I thought, "I'll make a mint! This is worth more than all my Toy Story residuals combined!" Apparently I am seldom informed of anything. And possibly a little slow. But seriously, are vampires even popular any more?
I always hoped that Buffy would live on even after my death. But, you know, AFTER. I don't love the idea of my creation in other hands, but I'm also well aware that many more hands than mine went into making that show what it was. And there is no legal grounds for doing anything other than sighing audibly. I can't wish people who are passionate about my little myth ill. I can, however, take this time to announce that I'm making a Batman movie. Because there's a franchise that truly needs updating. So look for The Dark Knight Rises Way Earlier Than That Other One And Also More Cheaply And In Toronto, rebooting into a theater near you."
'nuff said!

CBR Dr. Horrible

You watched the webisodes and love both the DVD and CD of Dr. Horrible?
Well, here's more of Captain Hammer, Moist, Bad Horse and all the others!

Comic title: Dr. Horrible and other Horrible Stories
Written by Zack Whedon
Art by Joelle Jones, Jim Rugg, Farel Dalrymple, Eric Canete

Published by Dark Horse Comics
From 2010
Lineup Dr. Horrible
Format: Trade paperback containing Dr. Horrible #1, all three digital comics from MySpace Dark Horse Presents and a new original sixteen-page one-shot.

When you want to start off a media franchise, most of the times companies go to Dark Horse Comics for the comic book part.
That's what Joss Whedon did with his Firefly/Serenity and Buffy series.

Since Dr. Horrible was such a huge hit with fans and went on  to win several awards... he couldn't let this untapped idea full of potential go to waste...

This comic is sort of a Dr. Horrible's prequel

The Dr. Horrible comics started first with 3 tie-in comics published online on Dark Horse's page and collected in omnibus collection full of other online comics called MySpace Dark Horse Presents...
Then a one-shot was published as a stand alone comic.
This Trade Papaerback collects all that, one new original story and connects all stories through a larger plot.

All are written by Zack Whedon, the art used in all these comics are all quite distinct, mostly cartoony and the main characters for story really stand out and are quite recognizable.
There's also a great introduction by the cast & crew of the live version of Dr. Horrible.

Bad Horse! Bad Horse! Bad Horse, He’s Bad!

Who is this comic for?
Well, mostly fans of Dr. Horrible.
The stories go to a great lenght of creating a background to each characters...but you'll be lost in all this probably if you're not familiar with them..

All the stories happen and are constructed around a signing of Captain Hammer in the park.
It happens just before the movie itself, before Horrible receives his invitation to the Evil League of Evil and finishes his Freeze Ray.
One story covers Captain "Nathan Fillion" Hammer and his reaction to fans and villains, another why Penny was so alone, the secret origin of Moist and why he joined Horrible, Doc' Horrible's background and hatred for heroes and finally a special tale of the Evil League and Bad Horse.

All stories are pretty good and in the same spirit of the movie (well...minus the singing..).
It's a very nice way to start off a little expanded universe for this, now, media-franchise and perfect to read while awaiting for the recently announced Dr. Horrible 2!

Overall, a nice, decent enough, Dr. Horrible comic series!
They're perfectly in tone with the actual Dr. Horrible movie, Zack Whedon took specially care of the characters' portrayal.

The birth of the archenemies-dynamic between Captain Hammer and Dr. Horrible is well presented and thanks to the different character tales, well structured.

A good read for fans, non-fans might check it out if they're curious about these characters.
Read it if you sound interested by all of this!~

I give it:
  2 / 3 FlamingCarrots!
