Marvel released a bunch of new posters through their facebook page for their upcoming The Avengers by Joss Whedon.

I like these. It's like we're circling around the characters in the city street/in the middle of battle/during a crisis. Which sort of reminds me of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon intro. Which is great btw!

Comics NEWS! Marvel's "Avengers Art Appreciation" month

Remember DC's Iconic month last year? Here's Marvel turn to reveal a thematic month. (though honestly, they do that a lot...)

Marvel Comics will be having lots of variant covers showcasing the Avengers in different artistic styles.
I usually don't like variant covers much... I think they drown the comic book market in an unnecessary over-saturation of books and I'd prefer these covers were related to the content of the books. (I mean why an Avengers variant for, say, the Fantastic Four? why? just to sell some more issues to people that weren't gonna buy that book in the first pace? so commercial... anyways..)

They'll be either representations of the Avengers under different artists own personal styles or through Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Monet-like interpretations.
A sort of depiction of what the Avengers would have looked like "throughout the ages".

FanFilmFriday: Avengers Assemble! - Episode 1

The awesome crew at Avengers Assemble the Series put up this fantastic on-going webshow based on Marvel's Mightiest Heroes called simply "Avengers Assemble!".

It's awesome and I'd suggest anyone to give it a look!


Well made, funny and entertaining. Their acting's pretty good compared to the usual youtube stuff and the costumes are quite top notch.

Here's their very first episode:

Episode 1 of the parody series, Avengers Assemble! In this inaugural episode, Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) leads the team in a discussion of the ramifications of the new Healthcare Bill recently passed.

Perfect to help us wait in the meantime until the actual Avengers movie or the 2nd Season of the cartoon Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes are released.

I didn't believe it could work at first, but it looks like we'll actually have the Avengers, live, in full motion and spirit and due form!
Can't hardly wait!!

It kinda looks silly, without the movie's photography and no effects/filters, but I'm getting a sense that the Avengers are actually coming to life finally!

Gamin' NEWS! Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

So it happened again.
Capcom just announced a new edition of one of their fighting games. This time it's...

Deadpool's still on the cover!

Meet Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3!!
While SF4 was reedited as the Arcade Edition over a year later, for MVC3 (released this February) it hasn't been even 10 months and the update's already coming up!
First, let's have a look at the reveal trailer:




So, what do we have here?

 

"The epic rematch looms in the distance as Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 prepares to take the battle to all-new heights. With new iconic characters from the Marvel and Capcom universes, 48 characters on disc, a refined fighting system and new modes, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 continues the Capcom fighting game legacy when it releases this November for the low MSRP of $39.99."

A dozen or so new characters, including Strider and Firebrand from the Capcom side and Ghost Rider and Hawkeye from the Marvel universe.

 New modes! New balance!
And that's already a lot more than what SSF4AE got :P
And, even new costumes like these:

And you know what? The rest of the cast even got leaked! Enjoy:

Which will had Doctor Strange, Frank West (Dead Rising), Iron Fist, Nemesis (Resident Evil), Nova, Phoenix Wright, Rocket Raccoon and Vergil!

It's only missing Squirrel Girl and would have been super happy with this update!
Anyway, this is looking far more diverse and better than the actual MVC3, I might finally play it again! (seriously though, it might be the fighting game I've tuned in the less playtime...I even playtime a lot more hours of Fighter's History or Galaxy Fight than this one! talk about a deception..)

If the new characters are fun and the new balanced system more intuitive I might actually go back to Capcom. (the latest Mortal Kombat's been rocking my "fighting" time)
