There's a new trailer for Dead Or Alive 5 out there!
This new trailer showcases Rig, the new character, and Bass Armstrong! Fighting in this all-new level:
Besides the fact he seems to have a pretty "classic" background for a fighting game character, his gameplay doesn't look half bad. Rig is amnesic, and decides to call himself like that because that's apparently where he woke up at first. (smelling a SF4's Abel-type of connection to the final boss comin' up here...) He is a Canadian Tae Kwon Do fighter, which brings another style and country to the series' roster, which is nice.
The only surprise "left" in the roster now might be the long-rumored appearance of another Virtua Fighter character, Pai Chan.

The homebrew scene is still keeping the DC very much alive these days.
GunLord is finally available to buy! It's a classic run'n gun game for the Dream, think Turrican, and is available on disc & cartridges for both Dreamcast and Neo-Geo AES & MVS.
It was developed by the German indie studio NG:Dev.Team and had been previously announced for this June 14. It will now be available in a bunch of various versions, even limited and collector, for this Thursday 21. A regular, a limited, a Newcomer Bundle and finally a Double Bundle are available to order! I'll be sure not to miss out the "Dragon Box" version, for the 25.
Looks like Disney wanna try getting on Warner Bros' animated territory. Because they just launched their very own DC NationMarvel Universe block.

On the program: It already on Disney XD. It will be Marvel's own dedicated cartoon programming block. It's basically a little segment on the channel where Ultimate Spider-Man will run alongside Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Oh and by the fall/next year, AEMH will be "changed" as they said to (hum... canceled and replaced by) Avengers Assemble - a less plot-oriented more kid friendly take on the Avengers, with more influence from the movies carried over, an humor closer to USM (think Scott Pilgrim on high sugar doses) and a different roster of characters. Cap, Thor and Iron Man will be kept around. But Black Panther, Antman and Wasp replaced by Black Widow (on the team like in the movie) and Falcon. For, some reason...?
Oh, and of course, it will also include new animated shorts and live-action interstitials. Obviously. In case you forgot this was their very own DC NationMarvel Universe block.
Edit: I might have sounded pretty negative above, but I'm actually all for it! I like the idea. Now, just make those shorts as funny and well animated as this, and you can sign me in!
With a movie hitting the big screens soon (Expendables 2!!), it's seems that Arnold Schwarzenegger0s comeback is finally arriving in due time!
And the long rumored new Schwarzy-starrring Terminator movie might be back on track, with as early as a February 2013 shooting! Did I say a Terminator movie? I meant two Terminator movies!!

They want it held in secret if you know what I mean, but I will say that next year I will start filming it and it's going to be one of the hardest films I have ever done, I can tell you that already for sure... They have six months set aside just for filming, so I will be training and getting into the best physical shape I possibly can before filming starts. It does follow Salvation although some of the producers and franchise owner were not to happy about the job McG did with it, but they felt it was good enough to continue on and they want the fifth and sixth installments to be the closing of the franchise." Woah!? Two movies, as in "back-to-back"? Well it better be good to effectively get rid of the awful taste Salvation left me with.. And "closing of the franchise"? Does this means a full-on time loop circle, back to the 80s with the original T-800? (obvious).
Now, I'd like a badass new Schwazy flick as much as the next guy. His movies, despite what some "younger generations" might say were still and are easily the most badass action-fillled movies Hollywood ever produced. (not "camp". campy is what stuff like Michael Bay & co produce these days...) I'd love to see time travel used as a fun story element and core element of these. Perhaps the full circle-time loop thing could be achieved in T5...only to end up with a worse disastrous timeline, and trying to "fix things" and correct it in the final 6th one? Mmmh...

Not long I posted the opening theme from the Japanese-French cartoonThe Mysterious Cities of Gold (aka Les Mystérieuses Cités d'Or). (also known in English speaking countries as Esteban or Child of the Sun)
Coincidently, it has just been announced that this old anime from the 1982 is getting a sequel nowadays!
For some strange reason, dubbed "Season 2", it looks like this:
Woah! Looks like one of those great modern adventure point & click games developed in Europe these last couple years. Which is kinda strange for a cartoon. But I like the cartoony CGi graphics. Not sure I'll actually follow this, since I didn't like much the original show to begin with, but nice nonetheless.
So this 2nd season will air ~30 years after the original show? Hope they'll make this continuation which will pick up directly after the last of the original episodes newcomers friendly enough.
And last (?) for this year's E3, the best random surprise of the bunch, though I'm annoyed it's only for iOS Apple-stuff and not PC yet is probably The Act.
The Act will be an old school arcade "QTE" animated game. Think Dragon's Lair. Though I'm more of a fan of the more hardcore/faster and logical Space Ace or the more open/non-linear Brain Dead 13.
They might not have the art or help of classic cartoonist Don Bluth on board, but they sure are close to it! The drawings and animation is simply gorgeous! Too gorgeous to keep it on iOS only, dammit!!
The game will be simpler (if that's possible) by the fact it will only use the left and right directions, no action button. Though I'd have preferred if they went more adventure game-style, like the Brain Dead 13 I mentioned above. Sort of "make your own adventure" instead of just watching the cartoon happen in front of your eyes with minimal interaction.

I hope it's fun enough to warrant various playthroughs, or at at least offer some replay value, the big problem of this old genre of action games...
If that above poster is already half-interesting you (or you already know what I'm talking about), then this upcoming Disney movie's for you! Wreck-It Ralph is an upcoming CGi 3D Disney movie, but not from Pixar this time around!
It will tell the very nerdy and "current gen" story of an old Arcade videogame villain who decides to become a good guy. Yes, it's all quite very Scott Pilgrim-y. I guess that's what Disney's up to these days to make their movie interesting enough and relevant to today's kids and adults alike nowadays!

There's a New Super Mario Bros. 2 coming up for the 3DS. And a New Super Mario Bros. U for the, well you guessed it, Wii U. (...now, I kinda wish they'd call it the Nintendo Wuu instead...)
This first high-definition Mario Bros. game is looking pretty nice! Like the original Super Mario Bros. 2 or Mario Galaxy 2, this one will be a direct sequel of a previous Mario title. It will feature up to 5-players in co-op. Check out these lovely pics:

The newly reformed Team Ninja is working quite hard on keeping the quality up to the series standards while reimagining the series in both its art direction and gameplay. More relastic visually, new chara design, much more impressive graphics and a new game control optimised for both fans and newcomers. Check out this kickass trailer featuring new faces...
So.. when will get a proper Virtua Fighter Vs. DOA? (personally, I've always been crossing fingers for a Virtua Fighter Vs. Tekken...wait a second... Virtua Fighter X Tekken X DOA anyone??)
I love the new art style, much better! The gals look great, the dudes kickass! I'm glad the girls have finally each different facial aspects/structure instead of the copy/paste doll faces from past games.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 shown here above in a lil' teaser. But you get the point. It does imply most of the gameplay. (wave of large group of enemies, etc.) It seems it will follow the DLC ending which followed itself the game's ending...

This spinoff (interquel) will follow the classic "metroidvania" formula of past games.

Aliens Colonial Marines might be coming later than originally expected or planned...and then delayed...again..and again...and again... Anyway, things seem to be back on track with now a release date for next February 12 in 2013.

The game will coming up for HD systems as well as upcoming next gen console Wii U! And, I don't mean to sound strange, but that seems to be the most original version. Having the movement sensor on the controller-screen pad is a genius idea!

And finally to kick ass this post with style, with - easily for me - the random surprise of this year's E3 of the day. Star Trek the videogame, apparently.
This would be co-op prequel to the J.J.Abrams Star Trek reboot movie is an upcoming game that will tie up with the new movie coming up in theaters soon.
It does look like a sort of Mass Effect/Uncharted hybrid kind of game, with co-op. And it's very random. Oh so random.
So random it will actually feature "The Gorn Hegemony" as enemies. Yes, them!
Chris Pines and Zachary Quinto will reprise their roles from the 2009 film - as Captain James T Kirk and Mr. Spock respectively.
It does really looks like a nice mix between Dead Island and Dead Rising, like I wrote yesterday.
And looking quite nice, to boot!

It seems the WiiU will be getting mostly late recycled titles. Assasssin's Creed 3, Mass Effect 3 (only 3s? no ME1 or 2?). I dunno why but I don't imagine a new audience getting the same game later on. I'm pretty sure 99% of people buying ME3 for Wii u will already have play through it = ME fans buying yet another release. Specially since it's the last part of the story without both ME1 & 2...
Anyway amongst these is a re-re-release of Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition. Are people still interested in re-getting this one? Specially with the "Game of the Year: Edition" recently, doesn't everyone already own Batman?
The game seems to be mostly identical, besides some gimmicks that will use the controller-screen of the WiiU. Beside, you can get the game in bargain bins pretty cheap most everywhere, not counting the cheap steam version for PC!

Omega Force, the guys who made most of the Dynasty Warriors for Koei, and Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage for Eido, will be making another Hokuto no ken game!
The original game was mindless fun and pretty cool, but didn't it already cover the entire story?
Simply titled Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 it sounds like more of the same kinda fun.
I can imagine this using inspiration from the "expanded universe" other continuations of the story, though I'd prefer to see some original story like that first Berserk game.

Speaking of Omega Force, that isn't all they're up to these days! A One Piece beat 'em all game is also coming up this one published at Namco.
Though it will be a PS3-only title. (awwww... can we hope for an Xbox port either in the US or here in Europe? pwetty please with sugar on top?)
Dubbed One Piece: Pirate Warriors in the US and not Luffy's Rage like I expected, this One Piece: Kaizoku Musou is coming up for November this year. And here's a new trailer:

It seems Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will get an even more random guest that the previous game (Banjo & Kazooie for the Xbox 360 version of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing)....
Sega of America announced the "real life" guest Danica Patrick - a pro Nascar driver - will be racing alongside de likes of Joe Musashi and Vyse.
Since she's pretty much literally unknown in Europe, people are guessing she might be absent from our Pal release of the game...nothing confirmed yet. Anyway, she'll be joining the roster of the game alongside her own racing car. She's gonna start participating to the game's marketing, starting November 3 with a Sonic themed Nascar.
Well, this one's certainly looking nice! LucasArts just finally revealed the long rumored new Star Wars game... and it's mostly what people expected, and then some! It's called Star Wars 1313 and seems to be an all-new original SW game. It will be M-Rated (!) and will have the player in the role of a mysterious random new bounty hunter.
It seems to draw a bit from next gen-current games and from the ol' Star Wars: Bounty Hunter too. But will have a new random merc instead of Bobba/Jango Fett this time around. (so this is the closest will get of that sequel I always dreamt of!...)
It looks gorgeous and people are thinking it might end up as a next-gen title instead!
The version they showed at E3 was actually running on a PC. It is sort of reminiscent of that long awaited Prey 2 game from Bethesda.
So Microsoft's getting their own "Wii U-like controller" Why did I tell ya, first paragraph here?
Apparently this "Xbox 360 SmartGlass" will be nothing alike. But you know what, leaving marketing aside, it is this year's Kinect-like accessory. (and people used to laugh at the Sega Mega-CD/32x? really??)
And at the end of the day, like the PS3's move/Wii Nunchuk, yes, it is essentially the same stuff.
The (intelligent) question is how the developers will use it, how well it will be integrated and if they will actually use it (well) - outside the hundred of obvious casual titles this will spin off.
E3 2012 blogposts continue! Now with more scifi and returning classics! First up a look at the upcoming Halo 4! Microsoft said a lot regarding this one. I'm sure everyone's got their own opinion on this game. I just hope it gets a more science fiction-ysh and interesting story (not just something fanboys notice, but something mind blowing and engaging for everyone!).
Something closer to Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay rather than Quake 3 Arena hopefully - story-wise.
Anyways, this new game will take some cues from recent adventure/platformer games such as Assassin's Creed and Uncharted. More cinematic, it does look quite impressive. I'd have preferred the series to continue on Crystal Dynamic's Legends/Anniversary/Underworld's path. At least we still got them behind the series, right?
It doesn't look that far from past TR game though. Only sans the jumping around.

RE is back with Resident Evil 6! Tons of new details regarding the new story have surfaced!
The atmosphere seems to draw some inspiration from both past and present RE games. The game looks graphically gorgeous, much better than the series ever been so far.
New villain, Ada Wong back, Sherry all grown up and it seems we'll get about 6 lead characters this time around! This one will be out on October 2 for both Xbox 360 and PS3.

Activision's Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is back on the frontline with an all-new badass video:
Speaking of Ubisoft, an Avengers tie-in game was confirmed. And yeah, it's coming up a bit late. (I fear cancellation...)
On the down side, this game Avengers: Battle for Earth will be a motion-controlled title for Xbox 360 and Wii U. So unless it's a very good and tightly controlled arcade game.. I'm not feeling it so far.
On the plus side it's handled by Ubisoft Quebec and it won't be a simple movie adaptation, but rather take its roots in the comics. Check out the "real" Hawkeye, Captain America with the little headwings and Thor with his helmet on:
Confirmed in the game are appearances by Wolverine, Spider-Man and more!
Now, we only need to see some actual gameplay footage...
It seems the game will be oustanding! It will include some new elements such as naval warfare and a complete and realistic weather system. (the weather in past games was more locally and settings generated, to set the mood during the story).

And accompanying this title there will be a 2nd Assassin's Creed game, on a portable system. Like with much of the previous titles.
This time something more original though.
Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will be an exclusive episode for the Vita. But unlike past PSP and DS game it won't feature Altair or Ezio, or bring Connor from the main new episode on a portable adventure.
Instead it will have new story that takes place in New Orleans and stars the series’ first ever female heroine! How cool is that! I've been hoping to see some more new characters and original protagonists on portable episode. And now I see it will have this kickass lady as main character - something I'd have even preferred in a main episode.
Anyway this looks like 1 definitive good reason to get this console! (like I wrote here in the past, I need at least 5 good reasons to wanna invest in a new system)
Sony already announced a bundle with the game, something that will sell some consoles no doubt!

Meanwhile, the new Rayman gets explained and new infos.
Rayman Legends seems to be confirmed for almost all possible systems. (Wii U, PS3, 360, 3DS, Vita, etc.) But only the Wii U version's been showed, as well as it's Wii U exclusive aspects, such as using the screen-gyroscopic controller, etc. A new returning character from Rayman 2 named Murphy. And more!
The game is a direct sequel to Origins and will sport more of the same kind of gorgeous 2D graphics. I'm not a big fan of the new shading. But it looks great nonetheless!
Check this out, there's some mix of 2D and 3D here and there, and it looks fantastic!
But WAIT! That's not all! Some other ips have returned, such as Sam Fisher!
Splinter Cell Blacklist looks simply amazing! It seems it will have a new engine, and spotlight the best gameplay elements of the franchise so far. I hope for more Conviction that Double Agent personally. Also a core element from the series has been announced integrated into the gameplay now. What could it be...?
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be out next year. It will bring some more Assassins Creed element to the series, with more walls and buildings being climbable!

Such as Watch Dogs. It will be an action thriller that plays like an open-world "superhero" game. With tech and gadgets at your services.
And if that wasn't enough for ya, there's also a more simpler and mindless fun game, ZombiU for Wii U! Don't disregard it due to its title though.
Looks legit to me!
It seems this one was built from the remains of Killer Freaks from Outer Space, Ubisoft's former Wii U horror exclusive -shown at E3 last year - which has been canned and recycled it seems. This could well be a nice surprise for next year!
