#Cinematic - Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour Intro

Here's something different.
It's the cinematic intro opening to Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour.

Why do I find it blog-post worthy? Because it mostly features Wario and Waluigi prominently.
And since it seems we're aren't getting closer to ever have an actual Waluigi game (or a game by Miyamoto starring Waluigi in it - does he really hate the character?!) and Waluigi only appears in sports/party games, let the man shine in this little funny intro video!

Fantastic animation!
And pretty funny.

Your time will come Waluigi...someday.. (in the meantime, enjoy his various fanarts over the interwebs or his non-official fangames for now)

#TV News! The "Mysterious Cities of Gold" Sequel Series

Not long I posted the opening theme from the Japanese-French cartoon The Mysterious Cities of Gold (aka Les Mystérieuses Cités d'Or). (also known in English speaking countries as Esteban or Child of the Sun)

Coincidently, it has just been announced that this old anime from the 1982 is getting a sequel nowadays!

For some strange reason, dubbed "Season 2", it looks like this:

Woah! Looks like one of those great modern adventure point & click games developed in Europe these last couple years.
Which is kinda strange for a cartoon.
But I like the cartoony CGi graphics. Not sure I'll actually follow this, since I didn't like much the original show to begin with, but nice nonetheless.

So this 2nd season will air ~30 years after the original show? Hope they'll make this continuation which will pick up directly after the last of the original episodes newcomers friendly enough.

This will premiere in France on June 23.

#Movie NEWS! Wreck-It Ralph

If that above poster is already half-interesting you (or you already know what I'm talking about), then this upcoming Disney movie's for you!

Wreck-It Ralph  is an upcoming CGi 3D Disney movie, but not from Pixar this time around!

It will tell the very nerdy and "current gen" story of an old Arcade videogame villain who decides to become a good guy.
Yes, it's all quite very Scott Pilgrim-y. I guess that's what Disney's up to these days to make their movie interesting enough and relevant to today's kids and adults alike nowadays!

Anyways, here's the trailer, full of cameos and appearances from the likes of Q*Bert and more!

Poor Zangief, why does everyone take him for a villain!?

It will feature voices from John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman and Jack McBrayer!
This will be out in theaters this November for the US, but next year in February for EU.

#EpicPic - Iron Maiden

This is not a cosplay.
This is.

Anyway, this is a totally kickass "Iron WoMan" 3D model done by the talented SgtHK, courtesy from his web portfolio at sgthk.daportfolio.com.

He writes:
My vision of Iron Woman. In celebration of The Avengers. Made in 3ds Max with the help of Mudbox and Topogun. Final touches done in Photoshop.
It's pretty kickass.
Now that's how you make a badass female-counterpart of a male character. No exaggerated, errr, chestal region. No silly girly pose.
Though the hair might be a bit much (I'd imagine it being fake/detachable from the helmet.)

#FanFilm Friday - "20th anniversary"

For today's #FanFilm Friday post, here's something very special.
Easily the best 3D/CGi animation I've ever seen, and it's not even an actual movie!

From fans to fans.

Enjoy:

Gorgeous animation and very video!
Loved the pacing, and fun atmosphere specially.

This hommage to Dave Stevens was realized by "John Banana".
It was presented for last year's 20th anniversary off The Rocketeer. (about a ~year ago more or less)

This video's been getting a lot of praise from professional and/or fans of Dave.
"I laughed, I cried. Dave would have loved this wonderful hommage that totally captures the warmth, action and humor of his creation. Thank you for making this!"
William Stout - williamstout.com/
Dave would have been impressed. It should be a televison series!
Paul De Meo - Rocketeer movie co-writer & co-screenwriter
I was fairly close with Dave (we worked together on a number of projects) and I know he would have dug this...
Scott Shaw
This is some professional-quality animation. I doubt an actual series/movie would hold a candle to this!

#Cartoon NEWS! new Tron: Uprising clips

Finally some news about the upcoming new Tron cartoon!

Disney has released some new clips and video of Tron: Uprising, which will start airing on May 18th!
Check it out:

Looks nice :)
The mix CG/2D animation is certainly interesting.

Good thing is this won't be an on-going series but, you could say, a "limited series" of sort. Only a certain number of episodes will be made, narrating a self-contained story.

#Cartoon NEWS! Beware the Batman teaser trailer

And here's the teaser for the all-new Warner show that will be joining Green Lantern and the likes on DC Nation:

Yeah...
... No.

Beware the Batman looks a bit cheap.
Well, that's the problem with the look they went here.
CGi, I mean good CGi is expensive. But kids nowadays do prefer it visually. And nevertheless, cheap CGi, while looking bland and generic, is cheaper than traditional animation in the end.
Also, producers don't care what you think, they just wanna make money at any cost.

TV NEWS! Beware the Batman teaser

It's been a long time since last Warner Bros talked about their upcoming new Batman cartoon show...

Here's a new teaser poster Warner released about Beware the Batman, the upcoming CGi TV series.
And here's the official press release:
A cool, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware the Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogues gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this action-packed detective thriller deftly redefines what we have come to know as a “Batman show.” Featuring cutting-edge CGI visuals to match the intricate twists and turns of the narrative, Batman steps out of the shadows and into the spotlight for an entirely new generation of fans. With WBA’s Sam Register executive producing, and Batman Beyond’s Glen Murakami and Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated’s Mitch Watson producing, Beware the Batman, based on characters from DC Comics, is coming soon to Cartoon Network!
Alrighty-o.
To be honest, I guess I'll only check out the pilot, but I'm personally not much interested in another CGi show *cough*GreenLantern*cough*
I'd rather go with something similar to Young Justice...why not simply expand that show's universe by focusing on its Batman? You know, like JLU, Superman the animated series and Batman's animated were all connected?
Those were the days...

RabbidsTV - Captain BWAmerica!!

"There is one Raving Rabbid that is answering the call of justice and cleaning up the streets."
Enjoy this epic video:

RabbidsTV - Indiana Bwaaah and the Temple of Peupeupeu!

And here's another video of Ubisoft's Rabbids.

This one's promotional material for the recent game Raving Rabbids: Travel in Time.
Enjoy,

Love these shorts!
Is it only me or is there some Road to El Dorado in this video?

Ubi should totally make some more, no game release around needed! Just keep 'em up like some cartoon webisodes for the fans.

RabbidsTV - Samurai Rabbid

Speaking of Rayman, I've been watching some shorts featuring the Rabbids from the Rayman Raving Rabbids games.

Ubisoft sure loves 'em (and I know, we all know, don't need to mention it, they've been stealing Rayman's storm these past couple of years..but now both franchises live perfectly fine and on their own separate side).
They've been making fun CGi videos with 'em since day one.

Here's a pretty funny one from the TGS 2009:

FanMade - Zelda: The Lost Oracle Trailer

What if there actually was a full fledged sequel to Zelda: Wind Waker?
Not one of those portable Zelda titles, a big new entry on modern systems?

This Canadian animator Joel Furtado decided to go ahead, and make his own trailer for such a title:

Woah!
Gorgeous!
I gotta say this is really impressive. Love the atmosphere he recreated here.
The visuals/graphics look amazing!

I might have missed the last couple modern Zelda entries - Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, all the portable titles since the Oracle of ones on the GBA - but I would totally buy this in an instant!

Cartoon NEWS! DC NATION trailer

So, the 2-part pilot of the all-new CGi Green Lantern cartoon finally aired!
And you know what aired as well?
A little trailer for the upcoming DC cartoon/news block on Cartoon Network, DC Nation!

Here's the trailer if you didn't knew about it/missed it/couldn't watch it on TV (<- like me!)

Wow!
Looking great, looking sharp and looking fun.

So Tiny Titans won't be about Art Baltazar's Tiny Titans but a follow-up of sorts to the previous TT cartoon...oh well..
Plastic Man's getting his cartoon pilot aired finally! (and possibly more episodes?!)
Live Blue Beetle. Alright. I guess... *crossing fingers*

My favorite part of the whole thing? Seeing Negative man, even for only 2 seconds.. Bring the DOOM PATROL SHORTS ON!! YEAH!!

Next year's program is off to a good start. :D

Star Wars NEWS! A Sith returns...

Oh ho...
Remember this guy?

That's right!
He's "back"! °__°

At first I didn't like much the idea but...
The decision to continue Darth Maul’s story was something that came directly from George. We all agreed that his return needed to be unique, unexpected and revenge filled. We don’t know what his outcome will be, and as a fan - that’s exciting.
Alright, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt...

Here's the trailer..

So? You guys happy to see him back or not?
He was sort of hinted, what with his brother appearance earlier.

Darth Maul did actually already return in the expanded universe's stories taking place farther ahead. Be it as a force-ghost in later stories or even with an half cyborg body in Star Wars: Visionaries.

DC News! Bat-games, Bat-cartoons and Super-movies!

The rain pours in, ruthless, in cacophony.
The Bat-symbol shines in the night.
I look upon Robin, the kid smiles at me.

It's time to check out some upcoming Bat-stuff. Oh, and there's some Superman in there too.
First up, Batman: Arkham City!
Nightwing was rumored for quite some time as yet another playable character (missed the previous ones? Catwoman and Robin are in there too!)
Since the achievements/trophies list was leaked earlier this week, Nightwing was finally confirmed to have at least some bonus (dlc?) challenge maps and a little solo campaign.
It's is now official thanks to the following pictures:

Concept arts:

In-game model:

Nice to see they were finally able to make some hair for these Unreal engine-running 3D character models.
Yeah, after all these extra-muscular thugs and skinhead-Robin, I kinda feared for Nightwing had he been revealed to be redesigned that way too...

I'm smelling DCnU "The New 52" red-ysh Nightwing and Bruce Timm's cartoon Nightwing as alternate costumes :P

Here's also a Robin-centric trailer!

Some Avatar items were also made available for Xbox Live Marketplace.
I sure as heck won't be getting those, but it's always nice to have a look a' 'em just for kicks:

Why does this Harley Quinn suit looks better than the in-game model? Oh wait, domino mask + headgear-thingie. Also the overall costume isn't as "slutty".

Meanwhile, Warner Bros just clarified information regarding the upcoming new Batman cartoon show and more!
It will be shown in a new cartoon block on Cartoon Network called DC Nation in 2012-13.
This CGi animated Bat-cartoon will be titled Beware the Batman!!
And I quote:
Along with Beware The Batman, Cartoon Network viewers can expect to see an assortment of other DC Comics content soon including Batman claymation shorts from Aardman Animation (Wallace and Gromit), Plastic Man shorts, Doom Patrol shorts, and Super Best Friends Forever, a series of Batgirl/Supergirl/Wonder Woman shorts by the creator of The Hub's My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic animated series.
Plastic Man shorts!!! Doom Patrol shorts!!!
Well, if we won't be getting these character (with butchered redesigns) in the current DCnU, at least we'll be able to get them somewhere else :P

Promo pic
It will be like Green Lantern, in CGi, as you can sort of guess from the picture above.
It's sort of a departure from previous Batman cartoons be it in form or in content. Featuring a strange new team mechanic, Bats is seen above alongside Alfred sporting guns and DC Comics' Katana. Weird. Though it is nice to see some modern established villains like Professor Pyg and Mister Toad and what I and most people guess to be Batwoman's sister Alice on the far top left corner.
Though the stylized look give it a look kinda reminiscent of that early 2000s cartoon The Batman.

Finally, on Superman's side...
Here's the first pic, from the shooting of Superman: Man of Steel, of Russel Crowe as Jor-El!
Someone caught this while the guy was having a break:

Mmh... I dunno for you but this screams a lot more RIDDICK to me rather than KRYPTON.
Silly modern movies and their colorless costumes...

STAR WARS News! See Anaking slowly turn to the Dark Side

Four Seasons already!
Time sure went by fast for this show? I can believe it has already been running for that long...

Anyway, here's Star Wars: The Clone Wars - the Season 4 Trailer:

Looking great!
Good :D

Love those underwater scenes!
We need more EU allusions/crossovers, like the Republic Commandos or Quinlan Vos we got in the previous season.

TV NEWS! TRON Cartoon preview!

It seems I wrote my Tron Legacy review just in time!

Here's Tron: Uprising preview trailer from the ComicCon, released just now officially.
What a coincidence!

Yes it will feature a unique mixture of 2D (characters) and 3D (The Grid).
It will follow Beck (voiced by Elijah Wood), the program who leads the uprising on The Grid. The whole thing takes place right before the film Tron: Legacy.
Also lending their voices to this series are Lance Henriksen, Mandy Moore, Bruce Boxleitner and Paul Reubens.

The 10-part micro series will air on Disney XD this fall, and then pick up for a regular spot in the summer of 2012.
