Now, this is from the awesome cheap rip-off Conan, the infamous Masters of the Universe live movie!
Dolph Lundgren rocks!
I gotta say, despite an awesome face, I really dislike this version of Skeletor... Couldn't they have given this best villain ever his traditional buffoon-like voice?
Awwwww... :(

#BestOf Orgazmo - "I don't wanna sound like a queer or nothin"
Okay, I admit, we're sinking pretty low with this one.
Here's a pretty dumb compilation from the crass movie Orgazmo from the minds of South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and directed by Trey Parker.
Featuring this parody of a douchebag caricature who ends up at the other side of his joke by the end of the movie.
Truly frightening stuff. Dumb too. But also funny, in a Dumb and Dumber sort of way:
(Not trying to insult or denigrate anyone, just sharing this for trivia)

#BestOf Vertigo - Scottie's Nightmare
My favorite scene from Vertigo, and easily one of the best and most memorable classic scenes from Hitchcock...
Bernard Herrmann's music alone is pure classic.
Simply put: A-mazing!

#Movie NEWS! Terminator 5 + 6
With a movie hitting the big screens soon (Expendables 2!!), it's seems that Arnold Schwarzenegger0s comeback is finally arriving in due time!
And the long rumored new Schwarzy-starrring Terminator movie might be back on track, with as early as a February 2013 shooting!
Did I say a Terminator movie? I meant two Terminator movies!!
And "closing of the franchise"? Does this means a full-on time loop circle, back to the 80s with the original T-800? (obvious).
Now, I'd like a badass new Schwazy flick as much as the next guy. His movies, despite what some "younger generations" might say were still and are easily the most badass action-fillled movies Hollywood ever produced. (not "camp". campy is what stuff like Michael Bay & co produce these days...)
I'd love to see time travel used as a fun story element and core element of these. Perhaps the full circle-time loop thing could be achieved in T5...only to end up with a worse disastrous timeline, and trying to "fix things" and correct it in the final 6th one? Mmmh...

"I can't say too much. They want it held in secret if you know what I mean, but I will say that next year I will start filming it and it's going to be one of the hardest films I have ever done, I can tell you that already for sure... They have six months set aside just for filming, so I will be training and getting into the best physical shape I possibly can before filming starts. It does follow Salvation although some of the producers and franchise owner were not to happy about the job McG did with it, but they felt it was good enough to continue on and they want the fifth and sixth installments to be the closing of the franchise." [Action Effects]Woah!? Two movies, as in "back-to-back"? Well it better be good to effectively get rid of the awful taste Salvation left me with..

#Movie NEWS! Wreck-It Ralph
If that above poster is already half-interesting you (or you already know what I'm talking about), then this upcoming Disney movie's for you!
Wreck-It Ralph is an upcoming CGi 3D Disney movie, but not from Pixar this time around!
It will tell the very nerdy and "current gen" story of an old Arcade videogame villain who decides to become a good guy.
Yes, it's all quite very Scott Pilgrim-y. I guess that's what Disney's up to these days to make their movie interesting enough and relevant to today's kids and adults alike nowadays!
Anyways, here's the trailer, full of cameos and appearances from the likes of Q*Bert and more!
Poor Zangief, why does everyone take him for a villain!?
It will feature voices from John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman and Jack McBrayer!
This will be out in theaters this November for the US, but next year in February for EU.

#Movie NEWS! first pics of Iron Man 3's new villain
Avengers out, did you know they're already filming Iron Man 3 at the moment?
And some crazy screenshots from fans have already invaded the web of what might be one of the movie's new villains....
What is that....?
Lemme see closer...
That's right! It seems to be an Iron Patriot costume!
But I doubt it will be the same kinda Iron Patriot as the one in the Marvel Comics.
In the comics, it was Spider-man's villain Norman Osborn who used this alter ego. But being "copyrighted" by Sony at the moment, someone else will don this armor here.
Technically though, Iron Patriotdid appear first in an Avengers comics, so it might be okay for Marvel films to use him.
This means actor James Badge Dale (originally rumored to be Coldblood) will be playing here in fact some unnamed new guy as Iron Patriot, alongside these other rumored villains Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin, and Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian, the man behind the Extremis technovirus.
Seems a bit "too much"... And with Jon Favreau out...will we end up with a "Spider-man 3" again...!?!

#Movie NEWS! Jackie Chan's 100th movie
Here's a trailer for the latest Jackie Chan movie.
What's so special about it is that it will be his 100th movie!
Holy Molly!
And here's trailer for his biggest film yet:
Woah! Looking great!
One of this film's fight scene is apparently costing more than $10 million to shoot!!
He's said he wants to retire from action films....
So enjoy this one regardless, it's gonna be spectacular!

It's called Chinese Zodiac and it will open at Cannes on May 18.

Jackie spent seven years working on the movie — including writing, producing, directing and coordinating fight scenes!
"For the last ten years I've been choosing the director to direct me. This one I direct myself." he said. "I hope this movie, 20 years later, people still remember it. For me, for the audience, for my future, for my history — it's very important."
Jackie's now 58, and if his recent Hollywood productions have been more simpler action-wise, I'm glad to see him back to his roots, still kickin' ass and taking names!
"I've been fighting and doing action films all my life, you've got to find a point to stop. With this movie I'm the director, I'm the writer, I'm the producer. So okay, I think it's a good time to announce that it's my last big action movie.
"I would still do action movies but not a big one like this."

What did you do this weekend?!
Hey gang, long time since I did one of these, heh?!
I originally planned on posting this yesterday, but stuff like work and life got in the way :P
This time, let's talk movies, TV and fighting games! (again!)
So this past week was the season finale of Fringe.
God, I love that show!
The last bunch of episodes were all pretty intriguing, the on-going plot crazier each time.
I just love the way it totally embraces its scifi roots. I mean, Fringe's basically an odd to science fiction, with big budget. You find the usual tropes, themes and clichés (time travel, mutants, mad scientists, alternate world, future distopia, science gone wrong, etc.), only with a "Bad Robot" touch, great acting and seriousness.
The epic climatic finale left me wanting for some more, though most major arcs seem to be closed for now...
Fox decided the next 5th and finale season will be shortened to a mere ~13 episodes (screw Fox network!!)
I also watched back Total Recall this weekend.
It had been quite some time since I last saw that one.
I love Scharzie!
Back then they knew how to make a good action blockbuster movie, no cheap CGi everywhere and lame lackluster storylines.
And, hey, it was a less racist time in a way, having big "foreign" guys at the head of all these big budget action flicks, Schwarzennegger, Van Damme, Stallone.. just look at the way people spend their time mocking those guys nowadays, their acting, their accents.. -sigh-
Anyways, enough sidetracking, I loved that movie!
Being a Paul Verhoeven movie, it was also pretty big in interpretation, more than I remembered it being.
What really happened in this movie?
Either you accept it was simply this story of this guy named Quaid who suffered from nightmares involving Mars and some brunette. He got a "Recall" which was fake implanted memories of vacations on Mars often... which awakened some actual memories of Mars that were erased from his mind. He goes to Mars for real, spends the whole movie fighting against bad guys *SPOILER alert on a decade old movie* only to discover he really was this Hauser guy. It was a plan with the main baddie to infiltrate the Martian resistance. In the end Quaid doesn't embrace his old Hauser persona and save Mars.
OR
It was all part of the Recall-implanted memories. Lots of things support this interpretation. He did get "the whole package" as he chose at Recall. He contributed in a Martian revolution, there were blue skies in the end as chosen in the simulation. Heck, he even chose that exact same brunette. Is the whole thing only a dream? (from the moment he was trying to escape from Recall?) The movie does end on a fade to white, which usually means a state of dream or someone dying on films. But you can go further than that, perhaps we, as the audience, were experiencing the whole Recall-memories, from start to beginning. Nothing was real, thus explaining things going further and further into over-the-top action. Deviating.
And even having this big muscled Schwarzy in the main role plays into the audience expectations. We have a certain level of expectations regarding the movie. Perhaps, if we'd were to choose "Martian memories" in the persona of a spy, Schwarzy would be our avatar.
God, I love Verhoeven!
Been playing a lot of fighting games too.
Some Blazblue on my sparetime. A game, I honestly am not a fan of...for a lack of trying.
I mean, since I got the original, I played so very little of the game.
But I wanted to like it!
I liked GuiltyGear, but I just never got around playing BB...
(unlike my 50+ hours into the usual Namco, SNK and Capcom fighters...)
Speaking of which, finally got a copy of Street Fighter X Tekken for super cheap, in second hand, on ebay. That way I won't geel cheated by Capcom whenever I'll buy those additional characters as DLC...
And by the by, when are they gonna release them? October?!!
I already fhought against Pacman, on the online mode, ON MY FRIGGIN' XBOX!!
And finally, Soulcalibur V!!
I wanted to dislike the game, I kept dissing it every new News blog I posted here... And even so... I just love the game!
It simply is a well rounded, well timed, well executed new entry in the long running series. I was afraid the lack of familiar faces, the exponentially over-epic theme, plus the bad after-taste SC IV left in my mouth would ruin it... So I even stared only playing with Ezio at first...
But... like, woah!!
The game is pretty fun! I love the SC-y music, the narrator, the gameplay.. Heck, even the awful *get broke by a combo/super attack and lose clothes* isn't as silly as it was in the previous entry. (though I kinda wish they'd just get rid of it...)
The characters are either new "old ones" in everything but name, children and successors who look pretty much the same, or old returning and older classic SC characters. I'm okay with it. Namco mostly cleaned up the lineup, not everyone was that essential anyway. I still have Maxi around. Mitsurugi. Even *SPOILERs-again* Kilik.
I miss Taki, but there's still a new badass ninja around, Natsu. I miss Xianghua but there's Leixia now. Even Raphael finally looks fun and playable now!
Spent lots of hours on it already, either *local* against my bro, or on Arcade, Quest and Legendary modes. Barely touched the online, but I'm an "old school" gamer, so I doubt I play a lot of it anyway.
~
And that is all I had to say~

#CollegeHumor - "Animation: Too Many Avengers"
With the Avengers out (I should really take the time to watch it....soon....), here's a pretty awesome animated parody from CollegeHumor:
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's how the general public's starting to feel, with all these superheroes around each other, teaming up.
They seem to be loving Avengers - for now. But you might see some eyebrows rising if there will ever be an Avengers 2 some day...

#Recap - The Avengers
I finally went on to see The Avengers yesterday evening!~
There was a non-3D playing at a movie theater around, starting about an hour after I decided to check it out online, so we just went there ASAP.
And the only thing I want to say is: Joss Whedon really knows how to make a good and entertaining movie!
I'll even nsay, Joss Whedon's f****** good!!
But that I already knew from Serenity, which only wasn't a success at the time because it wasn't a movie as hyped or an IP as popular as this one. And because of Avenger's bigger and better marketing.
Anyways, I truly believe most movies/games/whatever only succeed nowadays due to their bigger and more expansive budge/marketing. Throw money at the screen and people will eat that sh*t - prove in point the awful Transformers Bay-movies.
But I digress.
So Avengers was pretty darn good.
I really think only Whedon (and a couple of others) could make this dream project come true. I mean any other "studio-director" would have been overthrown by the dantesque project. The picture quality, CGi, etc. would have been the same, but the movie wouldn't have spent as much time with each character. Respecting both their respective movie(s) and comic book franchises.
The movie truly felt like a continuation of each series. Part-Captain America follow-up, part-Thor sequel, part-Iron Man 3. Well, Hulk, due to the change of actor I think didn't felt much like an Incredible Hulk, but Edward Norton's Hulk was alluded here and there (through the supersoldier/Abomination plotline).
It was bright, it was colorful, it was EPIC.
Yeah, EPIC's the world. Really, for once this word can b properly used here.
Specially near the end, the big panorama through the fight, pausing on each hero really qualifies this movie as epic.
It really felt like the Avengers come to life, Stan Lee's Avengers live! (speaking of which, I almost feared this would be the first Marvel movie Stan Lee-less, but thankfully, The Man still got a nice lil' unexpected cameo).
The only thing missing was the current cartoon Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes' theme song (come on, we all know it would have been awesome, even an orchestral take on that piece!) and the famous AVENGERS ASSEMBLE! catchphrase, which could have been so easily inserted at a certain moment!
Oh, and I guess my only complain was that the movie's villains, the "Chitauri" (if I'm not mistaken) were pretty dull and generic. They were apparently pulled from the Ultimate Marvel comics, I've just read. Well, I originally thought they were improvised for the movie..
I mean, it's almost as if originally, in the screenplay, Loki was using Skrulls or Krees from across the universe, but at the last moment they were replaced due to the producers or Marvel's involvement, to keep them free for a next future movie. (wouldn't surprise me, imagine a movie based on the Skrulls invasion..?) Thus the movie's Chitauri keep a very Skrull-ysh look, vehicles and weapons, but are instead dull grey-sh CGi creatures without personality.
Anyway, in the end, besides that aspect? A pretty epic movie!
Just having fun with superheroes and these Marvel characters. A true superhero movie done right.
Almost makes me which most movies could leave secret origins behind.
JLA by ~bbrunoliveira on deviantART
More than anything, this movie really made me think we could perfectly have a live Justice League movie that would work on the big screen.
Think about it!
They always think about believable adaptations, etc. But here in Avengers we got a HULK (ha!), gods, aliens from other dimensions, rocketflying robots, super over-the-top-archers, super badass spies, the SHIELD helicarrier, etc.
The audience will accept all that as long as it is properly introduced (not even explained - just take a look at Tony Stark's robots and technology!), has a decent enough budget and an excellent marketing! (<-it always comes down to that, heh?)
You could have Darkseid, Para-demons and Apokolips as main antagonists/reason for the heroes to join forces.
And no excuse like "but Green Arrow/Batman's powerless!" I mean, look at Black Widow or Hawkeye in Avengers! It's a movie, not real life! Just make 'em extremely efficient/badass on screen. It's entertainment, not a fraggin' documentary!
Yeah, this kinda turned into a JL-post, but that's my blog, so let me rumble around :P
Marvel Comics were my gateway into the realm of comic books, but I'm a DC guy at heart!~
Overall: The Avengers? An excellent movie!
Why did we get all these Thor, Iron Men and Hulk movies? Couldn't we had gotten that right away?!

#BestOf Mystery Men - The Sphinx's sayings
Here's a pretty awesome clip from a little obscure film from Ben Stiller.
Mystery Men!
It was actually an adaption of a cult indie comic by Bob Burden - Flaming Carrot & The Mystery Men. (which was in itself a follow-up and expansion of the original Flaming Carrot title) - albeit sans Flaming Carrot sadly.
The movie was pretty funny, pocking fun at superheroes and the genre. It also featured an awesome all-star cast of comedians in the lead roles. Hank Azaria, Janeane Garofalo, etc.
I just love Sphinx's parodical advices. Making of the usual wisemen-trope such as Yoda in Star Wars and the likes...

TV Spot for The Avengers "Iron Man Vs Castle"
Holy Molly!! This is probably the best "ad" for a movie I've ever seen!!
Well played, Joss Whedon! Combining Nathan Fillion!Castle with Iron Man!The Avengers - genius!! :D
Can you believe this combined ad for Avengers (just out now, about everywhere) and the awesome Castle TV series got fans imagining Nathan Fillion is Antman in the movie, all over again?
Well..me too. I'd make a perfect Hank Pym....
(but I'd still prefer if we could had him over at DC, as Hal Jordan!! >__<)

#Movie NEWS! over-the-top badass Expendables 2 trailer!!
This' just in, the all-new Expendables 2 trailer!
Check it out, yo!
It's an older and tired Sylvester Stallone that introduce us to this over-the-top extravaganza fest.
Oh man!
So pumped out for this!!!
Looks extremely fun and "old school"~
And Van Damme vs. Stallone?? Sign me in!!!
Scharzy's back, "I'll be back!" he kept telling us :P
This is looking pretty entertaining and badass :)

#Marvel NEWS! New The Amazing Spider-Man trailer!
With Avengers out, and Dark Knight Rises well on its way, it's Sony Picture's turn with their own Amazing Spider-Man by Marc Webb.
I almost forgot about this one.
I wasn't really interested in it so far, because of an ugly Lizard and a bad casting (IMO).
But then, this pic of Curt Connors!Lizard sporting his classic labcoat (above) and the following happened:
Wow!
Just... wow!
Looking pretty good.
Pretty, pretty, pretty good.
I can even look past this Garfield-guy as Peter Parker, the weird plot point ("Peter's parents...") and the new weird looking Spider-suit. This just looks really fun!
And he quips, he swings and hits the mark!
Looking forward to it~

#Comics NEWS! some new Dark Knight Rises pics
Here's a bunch of new promo material for the upcoming Dark Knight Rises.
And apart from the above "comic book-ysh" shot of Bats vs. Bane, they look sorta bland and generic, and way too over-photoshoped.
Though I can imagine some teens hangings these on their walls.
Check 'em out:

#BestOf Total Recall - All the Breaking Glass in Total Recall
So that Total Recall remake is still happening?
This reboot of the Schwarzy classic is set to draw a lot more from Philip K. Dick's original novel We Can Remember It for You Wholesale.
This new film is being directed by Len Wiseman from whom we got the Underworld series as well as Live Free or Die Hard (noooooo!!!) and is set for a August 3 release date.
Anyways, enough about the future!
Let's turn our eyes to the past for an epic compilation featuring lots of breaking glass from the original Total Recall...enjoy!

#Gaming NEWS! Batman: Arkham City's Game of the Year Edition
And as expected, here's the news regarding Batman: Arkham City new DLC chapter and whatnot!
First of all the game's being re-released thanks to the upcoming new Game of the Year Edition!
Well, I won't be buying it all over again, but let's check it out in more detail...
First, Warner Bros released this following trailer to announce it:
This new edition will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 29 in most countries.
It will containt from the go all the previously released DLCs.
A code to digitally download the Batman: Year One animated movie (!).
As well as the all-new DLC Harley Quinn's Revenge!
Now, this new final chapter will act as a sort of epilogue. With a playable Robin that will alternate with Batman.
It is said to be at least 2 hours long and will feature new places to explore, new foes to defeat and lots of detective gameplay around.
Here's some pics:
Looking forward to that?
I'll pick this up as DLC for my version of the game later on. Probably if it gets in one of those digital discounts-of-the-week.
I'd have preferred a whole side story with Nightwing or Robin during the game, their side of the events. Preferably facing one of those enemies that got such lttle screentime, like Harvey, instead of Harley which we already got plenty around.
First of all the game's being re-released thanks to the upcoming new Game of the Year Edition!
This cover's kind of a mess, artistically speaking...

#BestOf Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths - Batman Vs Owlman
Well, this one's a bit spoilerifique if you have yet to see this DC Original Animated Movie...but I love this scene so much!
Batman's confrontation with his evil doppelgänger from another alternate world!
I always loved stories featuring the "evil-JLA" Crime Syndicate of America!^^
