#AwesomeCosplay Pics of the day: Stephanie Brown - Robin
Time for another awesome cosplay for the day.
We're back with Aigue-Marine and her amazing cosplay skills.
I already featured her Steph Brown-Batgirl and Miss Martian cosplays in the past.
Check out this outstanding take on Stephanie Brown's Robin costume:
She does look the part - and quite lovely if I might add.

#Gaming NEWS! Batman: Arkham City's Game of the Year Edition
And as expected, here's the news regarding Batman: Arkham City new DLC chapter and whatnot!
First of all the game's being re-released thanks to the upcoming new Game of the Year Edition!
Well, I won't be buying it all over again, but let's check it out in more detail...
First, Warner Bros released this following trailer to announce it:
This new edition will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 29 in most countries.
It will containt from the go all the previously released DLCs.
A code to digitally download the Batman: Year One animated movie (!).
As well as the all-new DLC Harley Quinn's Revenge!
Now, this new final chapter will act as a sort of epilogue. With a playable Robin that will alternate with Batman.
It is said to be at least 2 hours long and will feature new places to explore, new foes to defeat and lots of detective gameplay around.
Here's some pics:
Looking forward to that?
I'll pick this up as DLC for my version of the game later on. Probably if it gets in one of those digital discounts-of-the-week.
I'd have preferred a whole side story with Nightwing or Robin during the game, their side of the events. Preferably facing one of those enemies that got such lttle screentime, like Harvey, instead of Harley which we already got plenty around.

This cover's kind of a mess, artistically speaking...

FanFilmFriday - DEATH WISH
Here's an all-new fanfilm by the guys at BatmanDeathWish Channel.
A bit different from your usual fanfilms, considering the sheer number of characters, people involved and idea behind all this.
You see this is going to be an episodic Batman fanfilm.
Here's what they've released so far,
BATMAN: DEATH WISH
featuring the likes of Oracle, Catwoman, Harley, Nightwing, Robin, Poison Ivy, Batgirl, etc.!
Enjoy!

Batman, Robin and Nightwing investigate a mysterious assailant who is targeting the kingpins of Gotham's criminal underground. As more of the rogues gallery is ensnared, a disturbing revelation about the attacker's identity takes shape.
"Batman: Death Wish" is a Batman fan film directed by Matthew Hiscox (Army of Two: 40th Day, Blunt Trauma) and written by Jennifer Zhang (Street Fighter High, Dead Inside).
And we're proud to say the video features an *original score* and cinematography by Andrew Ceperley!
It's looking pretty amazing so far!
Okay, Robin looks a bit Batman Forever-ysh...but pretty cool nonetheless!
Also, Yay! Cass!! <3

Outcast Studios - LIVE DRAW NIGHT December 2011
![]() |
http://outcaststudios.com/forums/ |
Yesterday evening was my 4th participation in the Outcast forums all-new "Live Draw Nights" for this quarter!
(You can find all my previous blogs by either following my meme tag or checking out the following links for the LDN February 2011, LDN May 2011 & LDN September 2011)
This weekend was yet another rude sessions of sketching, sketching and even more sketching!
Like before, I tried to keep my Twitter account updated as I went along.
If you're just joining me and don't know in what this LDN art jam challenge consists, it was roughly 4 hours long of various challenge thrown at us.
It's kinda like being in a "virtual convention" with various online members of the Outcast forums, getting various different challenges every hour and having to quickly (either digitally or traditionally) draw a lot of random characters.
It's a real challenging practice.
It was fun to get all together and draw, draw, draw! Keep our senses sharp and our hand fast. A great way to work your skills if you will!
Like the previous times, we had a great time. Various characters and fun ideas during the night.
Just trying to keep up is a fun challenge in itself!~
Now, let's dig into yesterday's entries!
Hour ONE
HOUR ONE was a nice warm-up.
Simply, 10 minute/sketches coming for an hour!
We started with one of Outcasts' own creations, The Checkeredman!
Great way to get things started.
The Batwoman!
Since we only had 10 minutes for these, I decided to go the simplistic route
Le Marquis, from a French bande dessinée, from what I gather.
Never heard of the guy. Fun design though.
Dr. Manhattan.
Fun one to draw I gotta say.
Leonidas from 300, with obligatory meme, if you please!
...and that was the last one for this "HOUR".
[BREAK!! BREAK!! EVERYONE TAKE A BREAK!!]
This was the time to walk around a sec'. 10 minutes break for everyone at this point.
Hour TWO
Hour two consisted in two 30 min. sketches.
With a twist!
2 selected characters fighting random foes.
The first random subject was Blueberry & Lone Wolf (and Cub) versus Violent Cowboys!
Was getting carried with this one..
I had this epic western scene pictured in my mind.
..and the 2nd drawing was Lobo & Judge Anderson (from Judge Dredd) against, I quote, "homicidal telekinetic Toddlers", I kid you not.
[BREAK!! BREAK!! EVERYONE TAKE A BREAK!!]
Hour THREE
HOUR THREE - It consisted in a longer 50 minutes drawing of Ghost in the Shell's main protagonist.
Motoko Kusanagi.
The idea was to either emulate this reference pic of a cosplayer or simply the character she was representing.
[BREAK!! BREAK!! EVERYONE TAKE A BREAK!!]
Hour FOUR
Fourth - and last final hour.
A drawing with a twist!
The subject was a steampunk'd version of one of the proposed characters. We had a whole hour for this one.
I decided to select the DK2 Batman & Robin, just for kicks

And that was all for this night!
Our next session will be in March, from what I gather.
All in all, it was a pretty fun challenge to keep up with :D
Why don't ya try joining in the fun for next time. (log in the outcast studios or even, try to keep up even if you don't follow these forum boards!)
Hope you enjoy these!
Until next time~

Batman Arkham City DLC
So Robin, the last character DLC for Batman: Arkham City was released yesterday!
I actually really like how Robin was handed here.
I personally only play him in his Red Robin guise, since I dislike the gangsta/thug head-shaved Prison Break-style from the game. Just such a silly "gritty" design for Tim Drake (who looks too much Damian Wayne for my taste here) . Kids will love it, I'm sure. But I find it so plain bad and boring...
Red Robin rocks!
Anyways,
It was all fun and games...though I'd wished for these following ideas.
It was nice to have Robin and Nightwing (and Catwoman) added to the game via DLC.
But It's too bad they're only available in the survival mode "Challenges" in either the Predator Maps (stealth levels) or the Combat Maps. Not in the main game/&in the open world Arkham City map.
(WARNING! This is a post where I wish for things that they didn't do, I know there's a lot of content in the game, but this is what I'd have added anway)
I wish they'd offer a little campaign for both Robin and Nightwing, like Catwoman has those 5 episodes interlaced in the main campaign.
At least one episode each, since they're adding them to the game later, unlike the "Catwoman-on-the-disc-though-you-need-internet-to-unlock-her".
For example, Nightwing could have add a little campaign, setting him free to roam in Gotham, where you'd have to get to a point on the map (or roam free) to face Two-Face! Harvey's got such little screentime in this game...Harvey! One of Batman's most important foes/classic enemies/well known and loved villains.
Plus Nightwing/Dick Grayson Vs. Two-Face is such a common occurence in the comics, from their ol' original Golden Age comics to the later modern Year One stories, Dark Victory, Battle for the Cowl, etc..
Nightwing can't glide since he doesn't have a cape? Not a problem! Catwoman doesn't either! Just let Dick parkour around the city!
And Robin/Tim Drake could have a little episode in the same fashion (possibility to either do the mission or free roam), where you'd have to face Black Mask! Another underused character! He's present in the game, 3D in-game model and all..only he doesn't do anything in the end! You see him 3 seconds at the start and then...nothing!
Combat maps are fun...for a while. I know the younger gamers love 'em, just see how many of these videos are uploaded on youtube, but combat gets boring and repetitive.
It's far from my favorite part of the game.
(I prefer the stealth challenges, button mashing? not for me :/)
Anyway, I know the DLC will stop after the upcoming last one (a costume pack with all the pre-order costumes), but here's what I would have done after that if it was up to me...
That's right, I wouldn't stop at Robin.
I would love it if they could offer Batgirl/Cassandra Cain!
The two Batman Arkham games feel like a sausage fest. There's big muscly bulky thugs in every corner. At least they added Catwoman to join the ranks of Harley and Ivy as sole female characters.
But even so, they're all very sexy/bimbo-ified/not-wearing-a-lot gals.
(actually I'm lying, thank god there's also a kickass Talia Al'Ghul...who ends up kidnapped by the villain...mmh.. :( )
Adding Cass would change that a bit.
She could fit the tone of the game.
(no need to change her perfect character design!!)
Though you could also play as Black Bat if she'd have an alternate costume!
But wait!!
I'd also had Batgirl/Stephanie Brown!
If it was up to me, I'm saying.
Sure, she would stand out, with her purple fun retro-ysh costume...and so what??
The game would be perfect for me if there were:
- A playable Nightwing episode
- A playable (Red) Robin episode
- A 1st Batgirl Pack
- And a 2nd Batgirl Pack
I know some would love more costumes...more challenge rooms...or a 3rd game simply!
But that would be enough for me :P
Oh wait, a Spoiler alternate costume as well.
Anyway, that's my two-cents ideas :'3
I'll be back playing with Red Robin this evening~

I asked you guys and gals for your ideas and suggestions...
And you answered it here!
Here's some ideas I picked up to draw this time around.
's suggestion.
Here's the Deus Ex dude from the 3rd game.

Guybrush from "Tales of Monkey Island"'s not really my favorite, design-wise, but here he is anyway!

Alright you asked for Robin and you got Red Robin... but Tim Drake is THE Goddamn' Robin afterall
First time drawing his all-new (ugly) costume.
Last drawing for this session!
Thanks for all your ideas and contributions guys. Well, it's 2 AM in the morning here, so that will be all for this time. ~

ComicPageOfTheWeekend: The Super Dictionary
I just noticed I never posted any scan from the "Super Dictionary", and it's about damn' time I started doing so!
The Super Dictionary was a sort of encyclopedia published by DC and illustrated by most of the publisher's famous characters.
For comic fans and blog posts, it's a gold mine.
So without further redo, here's my all new Super Dictionary tag for future blog posts.
