It seems Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will get an even more random guest that the previous game (Banjo & Kazooie for the Xbox 360 version of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing)....
Sega of America announced the "real life" guest Danica Patrick - a pro Nascar driver - will be racing alongside de likes of Joe Musashi and Vyse.
Since she's pretty much literally unknown in Europe, people are guessing she might be absent from our Pal release of the game...nothing confirmed yet. Anyway, she'll be joining the roster of the game alongside her own racing car. She's gonna start participating to the game's marketing, starting November 3 with a Sonic themed Nascar.
Sonic Generations might have an actual rockin' theme song like modern Sonic games, but that didn't stop Crush 40 - June Senoue's rock band, composer of most Sonic soundtracks - from writing this "Anniversary" song.
Entitled Sonic Youth / One Of Those Days / Rise Again, here's a preview!
Sega finally officially announced the Sega All-Stars Racing sequel. Only it's dropping the Sega in the title and will now be titled Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed! Let's check it out~ First of all, like the more recent Mario Karts (the one on the Gamecube) or some Donkey Kong racing games, it's adding some gimmicks to the gameplay.
I'm not sure how I actually feel about it. I mean, the classic kart formula was perfect to me. They didn't need to add stuff like that... Oh well. Like the "transformed" part implies, the vehicles will be able to transform depending on the circuit's environment. That is, the "cars" will now transform into planes or boats according to where the road will lead you.
Well executed, it might work enough. But one or two gameplay problems and it might give the game sluggish controls...
The game is supposedly coming out this year on almost all platforms, PS3, 360, PC, Vita, 3DS,etc... Sumo Digital is still on this one. This new title will offer 16 brand new races, from Sonic levels to Panzer Dragoon and even Shibuya (Jet Set Radio!). New characters will count at least Vyse from Skies of Arcadia and Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe! The game will also feature a Story mode of some sorts.
Here's some pics:
And a trailer already!
No Wii? Probably for Wii-U then, a launch title no doubt.
I'm a big Sega fan at heart, so I'm a lot more interested in this new Sega crossover than, say, a Sony or Nintendo one.
Honestly? Not feeling much the new transformable vehicles. At best it might be passable, at worst it will be just plain annoying and gimmicky. Making this new game more easier forgettable than the previous one...
The rumors have all but been confirmed by now, a new Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing 2 game is coming up soon!
A listing for the game appeared online on some websites, but Sega took them down. They're probably waiting to announce the news themselves, via a surprise trailer or something. (this summer at E3?)
But we won't have to wait much it seems, since it is sheduled for a November 30th 2012 release date apparently. The game will be coming out on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
I'm crossing fingers for random and underused Sega licenses, like Nintendo did with the Ice Climbers and Earthbound in Smash Bros.
My pick? ToeJam & Earl, Rent-A-Hero, Pengo and Monster World! :P
So, Sega finally let the trailer for their upcoming title Sonic 4: Episode II out. After all those screenshots, we can finally see how it will all be in motion.
New engine, new visuals and better physic. Also the gameplay will include some nice new original ideas thanks to Tails' help.
Sega released not long ago a bunch of new screenshots of the upcoming digital title Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II! And it looks like they actually heard the fan complaints and problems with the first one.
Firsthand, the game will be letting go with that pre-rendered stuff from the first episode. It looked good in Donkey Kong Country, but it is such a silly design nowadays. (I mean, if it was pre-rendered stop motion characters, alright that would be awesome. but pre-rendered CGi today? that's just lazy...) The game will instead be in full 3D, not that different from Sonic Generations in a way. (though honestly I'd have preferred 2D like Ubisoft's recent amazing Rayman Origins)
Tails is playable, or can join in the game (quite similar to Sonic 2-3-& Knuckles on the Megadrive). The game seems to be a big nostalgia trip to Sonic 2 and Sonic CD mostly.
Enjoy:
I can't believe I'm actually saying this...but.. It is even looking fantastic so far! Such improvement over the previous one!
Fun looking levels, Metal Sonic back as a rival..
So lemme guess..the next game will be a remix of Sonic 3/Sonic & Knuckles and will add a digital lock on to the previous titles alongside Knux playable?
Here's a totally random new commercial featuring none other than Sonic The Hedgehog! It has already been going around the interwebz, but chances you might have missed it.
It's an ad for Progressive Insurance, featuring classic Sonic music, a non-speaking modern Sonic!
Yay! Sonic's a star all over again, using his new gained fame and selling his imagestarring in totally random ads and all that~
Also, it was nice seeing "human characters" in Sonic Unleashed art style again^^
