#E3 NEWS! 1st day recap part 2

E3 2012 continue!
Let's have a look at what Ubi's showed this year!
First, Assassin's Creed!

I'm trying to avoid spoilers and watching too much, but this new Assassin's Creed 3 is shaping up quite nicely!

Here's an all-new CGi trailer:

...and because Ive got so much hype for it, here's another more cinematic and less spoiler-y trailer:

It seems the game will be oustanding!
It will include some new elements such as naval warfare and a complete and realistic weather system. (the weather in past games was more locally and settings generated, to set the mood during the story).

And here's some gameplay just for comparison, to see how more improved and realistic it is now:

And accompanying this title there will be a 2nd Assassin's Creed game, on a portable system. Like with much of the previous titles.

This time something more original though.

Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will be an exclusive episode for the Vita.
But unlike past PSP and DS game it won't feature Altair or Ezio, or bring Connor from the main new episode on a portable adventure.

Instead it will have new story that takes place in New Orleans and stars the series’ first ever female heroine!
How cool is that! I've been hoping to see some more new characters and original protagonists on portable episode. And now I see it will have this kickass lady as main character - something I'd have even preferred in a main episode.

Anyway this looks like 1 definitive good reason to get this console! (like I wrote here in the past, I need at least 5 good reasons to wanna invest in a new system)

Sony already announced a bundle with the game, something that will sell some consoles no doubt!

~

Meanwhile, the new Rayman gets explained and new infos.

Rayman Legends seems to be confirmed for almost all possible systems. (Wii U, PS3, 360, 3DS, Vita, etc.)
But only the Wii U version's been showed, as well as it's Wii U exclusive aspects, such as using the screen-gyroscopic controller, etc.
A new returning character from Rayman 2 named Murphy.
And more!

The game is a direct sequel to Origins and will sport more of the same kind of gorgeous 2D graphics. I'm not a big fan of the new shading. But it looks great nonetheless!

Check this out, there's some mix of 2D and 3D here and there, and it looks fantastic!

~

But WAIT!
That's not all!
Some other ips have returned, such as Sam Fisher!

Splinter Cell Blacklist looks simply amazing!
It seems it will have a new engine, and spotlight the best gameplay elements of the franchise so far.
I hope for more Conviction that Double Agent personally.
Also a core element from the series has been announced integrated into the gameplay now. What could it be...?

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be out next year.
It will bring some more Assassins Creed element to the series, with more walls and buildings being climbable!

Welcome to Forth Echelon...

Can't wait to see Sam back in action!

~

And that is not all!
Ubi also announced some new ips unlike many others.

Such as Watch Dogs.
It will be an action thriller that plays like an open-world "superhero" game. With tech and gadgets at your services.

Here's a trailer:

No systems yet.
It does look great though.

~

And if that wasn't enough for ya, there's also a more simpler and mindless fun game, ZombiU for Wii U!
Don't disregard it due to its title though.

Looks legit to me!

It seems this one was built from the remains of  Killer Freaks from Outer Space, Ubisoft's former Wii U horror exclusive -shown at E3 last year - which has been canned and recycled it seems.
This could well be a nice surprise for next year!

It looks like a Dead Island meet Dead Rising mix. And it is being developed at Ubi Montpellier!

~

And that is all for this post!

#Gaming NEWS! Amazing Spider-Man trailer

And here's a trailer for the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man game based on the movie of the same name:

This looks like....another one of those bargain bins-games :P

Sure it might look nice, but in the end, it will no doubt be quite dull and repetitive.

#SEGA NEWS! Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed announced!

Sega finally officially announced the Sega All-Stars Racing sequel.
Only it's dropping the Sega in the title and will now be titled Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed!
Let's check it out~

First of all, like the more recent Mario Karts (the one on the Gamecube) or some Donkey Kong racing games, it's adding some gimmicks to the gameplay.

I'm not sure how I actually feel about it. I mean, the classic kart formula was perfect to me. They didn't need to add stuff like that... Oh well.
Like the "transformed" part implies, the vehicles will be able to transform depending on the circuit's environment. That is, the "cars" will now transform into planes or boats according to where the road will lead you.

Well executed, it might work enough. But one or two gameplay problems and it might give the game sluggish controls...

The game is supposedly coming out this year on almost all platforms, PS3, 360, PC, Vita, 3DS,etc...
Sumo Digital is still on this one.
This new title will offer 16 brand new races, from Sonic levels to Panzer Dragoon and even Shibuya (Jet Set Radio!).
New characters will count at least  Vyse from Skies of Arcadia and Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe!
The game will also feature a Story mode of some sorts.

Here's some pics:

And a trailer already!

No Wii? Probably for Wii-U then, a launch title no doubt.

I'm a big Sega fan at heart, so I'm a lot more interested in this new Sega crossover than, say, a Sony or Nintendo one.

Honestly? Not feeling much the new transformable vehicles. At best it might be passable, at worst it will be just plain annoying and gimmicky. Making this new game more easier forgettable than the previous one...

Well, let's hope they'll use some ideas from that Art Jam I organized some years ago! :P

#Gaming NEWS! MKVita + DOA5

Here's a new trailer for Mortal Kombat on the Vita and one for Dead or Alive 5!
First up, the Mortal Kombat one.
It's actually the "complete" trailer from which that previous Kitana trailer was cut from. (so...was that a teaser for this new trailer? are we at a point where peope make trailers for trailers? wait a minute...Yes!!)

Well, I won't be getting this game...since I already have it for Xbox 360!
But I can enjoy this live trailer nonetheless :P

~

Meanwhile Tecmo released a new trailer for Dead or Alive 5, this one featuring Bayman and Christie, two more returning characters!
Are they gonna make some vids for all the characters? Probably so.

I love the new "more realistic" artstyle.
Looks great!

Some news regarding more Virtua Fighter guests are expected soon, more precisely Sarah Bryant and Pai.
In the meantime, enjoy some concept arts as well as Hi-Res screens of the new level:

Again, I just love the new artstyle!
Character faces do look different instead of the same copy-paste generic anime. They all have different details and facial features now!

#Ad - Mortal Kombat 9 Vita teaser [PS Vita]'

Here's a pretty kickass "live action" ad Warner just released for the upcoming release of Mortal Kombat 9 on the Sony's Vita.
Check this out:

That's some badass video and an equally fantastic looking cosplay ;)

DC News! Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes trailer

Speaking of DC, here's the newly released first look at the upcoming Traveller's Tales videogame Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes.

Which looks like it will be a Justice League themed sequel to the previous Lego Batman game...

It will be released on almost every single system - PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Vita, Wii, DS, 3DS  - this summer.

this looks like it might be a pretty fun title!
Why didn't they simply make a Lego JLA, though?

Gamin' NEWS! Pac Man Vs. Mega Man!! It's on!!!

Here's the most epic news you'll heard concerning the upcoming Capcom title Street Fighter X Tekken...
...joining an already big epic cast of colorful characters of Namco and Capcom fighters (for some reason, mostly Final Fight on Capcom's side...!?), Ono added two surprise non-fighting guest to the roster in the form of....

Namco's own classic mascot Pac-Man will be joining the all-star ranks of Tekken fighters.

Like today's Namco company this bonus character will actually be a classic Pacman riding Tekken's own Mokujin (albeit giant). The perfect alliance of today's games and the classic Namco from the arcades. Namco today, still with their classic and modern fanbase in mind.

Here's some pics:

On the other hand, Capcom's own bonus character is...

Classic "Boxart Mega Man".
Which would be a nice addition usually...but look at the poor guy!

He's clearly out of shape, the costume totally busted...
Is that what they think the fans deserve? How they see the Mega Man fanboys?
Or better, just a joke? Considering how much fans were asking for some Mega Man content lately be it in the fighting games or just considering the way they threat Mega Man over the more popular franchises like Resident Evil or Street Fighter.
With 2 Mega Man games canceled lately, Mega Man Universe and Mega Man Legends 3, this is probably what Ono thinks of the blue bomber:

Bwahahaha :P
Honestly, I kinda love it!
I'm sure the Japanese audience will call him "USA Rockman" or sumthin'~

And you can be sure a more Classic Mega Man will be available as a DLC costume later on XD
For now only confirmed for PS3 (not Xbox 360... which kinda annoys me, but, meh, it's just a game so...~)
Here they are in motion, in the latest trailer:

Gamin' NEWS! Street Fighter X Tekken new trailers so far

Capcom released some news regarding their take on the upcoming next cross-company Vs. Series installment Street Fighter X Tekken!

A lot of characters have been revealed so far.

Here's the latest batch of characters for the month:

Balrog, Vega, Juri join Paul, Law and Xiaoyu!
Loving to see Capcom already keeping Juri around. That's more effort they're doing than whatever happened to other SF4 newcomers like Abel, Seth or Viper....

The Tekken guys are looking well integrated and rendered in Capcom's hands.

There's also some quick hints at the upcoming characters we might see (Akuma, Ogre?)... Is that a (Miss) Pac-Man hint at the end?! And...huh... Captain Commando? Or a realistic/boxart Mega Man? (at this point, I'd rather have Cap' Commando honestly..)
But since it's in the Vita-console exclusive segment..it means fun characters only for that version of the game? awww...come on!

And here's the latest cinematic trailer:

Badass!
Still way too much filters to really enjoy normally (that's Capcom fighting games, under Ono!)...

~

On Namco's side, Katsuhiro Harada (Tekken director/producer) said fans will be able to vote for the roster of their game Tekken X Street Fighter on the official facebook page.

Gamin' NEWS! Some Nintendo titles + Bananas!

From this year's 2011 Tokyo Game Show!

It's time for yet another video game update blog post!
This time featuring Nintendo trailers and some familiar Monkey returning yet once again.
First up, let's check out Nintendo's all new trailer for their upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword!

Nintendo doesn't do much CGi trailers usually, so it's always nice to give a look at such video for one of their titles.
I missed a couple Zelda games, so I'll be playing this around 2015 probably (ha! retro gamers don't fear delays in their "planning"!)

And here's a gameplay trailer showcasing some new mechanics and features:

Looks fun!
It will be released the 20 November on the Wii.

And now, here's a look at Nintendo's mascot upcoming title. This one's on the 3DS instead, for November too, Super Mario 3D Land:

This video's from the press conference.
All in all, Super Mario 3D Land looks like a pretty neat entry. I'm more itnerested in playing this than any of the Mario Sunshine/Galaxy/2 that I missed.
I dunno, but the mix of 2D sidescrolling + simpler 3D platformer has really a nice touch to it. Sure, both Mario Galaxy games might be good games but I'd rather go for something simpler without the planetoids gimmick. (yeah, call me old school if you want!)

Meanwhile, Kirby returns in the appropriately named Kirby's Return to Dream Land on the Wii later this year.
This new game will be a return to basics after a more original entry earlier this year.

Awesome!
I haven't played any Kirby game since the (two) original game(s) on the classic Game Boy waaaay back.
Might give it a try!
(plus, I can't get enough of all these recent sidescrollers lately!)

Luigi will be back in his own spinoff, in this sequel to the Gamecube launch title. This time on 3DS as well.
(note to self: might need to end up buying a 3DS at some point...)

Luigi's Mansion 2's looking great so far! :D

And finally, looking at the other side of the fence.
Sega will bring the series Super Monkey Ball back to the scene, with an all-new entry this time for Sony's new handheld system, the PS Vita:

Great recommended hybrid platformer/puzzle series! If you got a system on which there's a Monkey Ball, I can't recommend trying one of these games. The puzzles are often quite interesting and always make you scratch your brain on later levels.

And that is all for this time~
