#E3 NEWS! Random guest start for Sonic Transformed

It seems Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will get an even more random guest that the previous game (Banjo & Kazooie for the Xbox 360 version of Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing)....

Sega of America announced the "real life" guest Danica Patrick - a pro Nascar driver - will be racing alongside de likes of Joe Musashi and Vyse.

Since she's pretty much literally unknown in Europe, people are guessing she might be absent from our Pal release of the game...nothing confirmed yet.
Anyway, she'll be joining the roster of the game alongside her own racing car. She's gonna start participating to the game's marketing, starting November 3 with a Sonic themed Nascar.

Danica has posted this tweet recently:
SO excited to be at #E3‬ for @sega and sonic the hedgehog! Come say hi at the #segae3‬booth! #sonicracingtransformed‬
Nobody saw this coming, heh? :P
So I guess this means we can get "real" characters...like Segata Sanshiro perhaps...?

Does this mean she'll represent SEGA ip Daytona USA in-game?

#SEGA NEWS! Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed announced!

Sega finally officially announced the Sega All-Stars Racing sequel.
Only it's dropping the Sega in the title and will now be titled Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed!
Let's check it out~

First of all, like the more recent Mario Karts (the one on the Gamecube) or some Donkey Kong racing games, it's adding some gimmicks to the gameplay.

I'm not sure how I actually feel about it. I mean, the classic kart formula was perfect to me. They didn't need to add stuff like that... Oh well.
Like the "transformed" part implies, the vehicles will be able to transform depending on the circuit's environment. That is, the "cars" will now transform into planes or boats according to where the road will lead you.

Well executed, it might work enough. But one or two gameplay problems and it might give the game sluggish controls...

The game is supposedly coming out this year on almost all platforms, PS3, 360, PC, Vita, 3DS,etc...
Sumo Digital is still on this one.
This new title will offer 16 brand new races, from Sonic levels to Panzer Dragoon and even Shibuya (Jet Set Radio!).
New characters will count at least  Vyse from Skies of Arcadia and Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe!
The game will also feature a Story mode of some sorts.

Here's some pics:

And a trailer already!

No Wii? Probably for Wii-U then, a launch title no doubt.

I'm a big Sega fan at heart, so I'm a lot more interested in this new Sega crossover than, say, a Sony or Nintendo one.

Honestly? Not feeling much the new transformable vehicles. At best it might be passable, at worst it will be just plain annoying and gimmicky. Making this new game more easier forgettable than the previous one...

Well, let's hope they'll use some ideas from that Art Jam I organized some years ago! :P

Sega NEWS! All-Stars Racing 2 announcement imminent

The rumors have all but been confirmed by now, a new Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing 2 game is coming up soon!

A listing for the game appeared online on some websites, but Sega took them down.
They're probably waiting to announce the news themselves, via a surprise trailer or something. (this summer at E3?)

But we won't have to wait much it seems, since it is sheduled for a November 30th 2012 release date apparently.
The game will be coming out on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

I'm crossing fingers for random and underused Sega licenses, like Nintendo did with the Ice Climbers and Earthbound in Smash Bros.

My pick? ToeJam & Earl, Rent-A-Hero, Pengo and Monster World! :P

Gamin' NEWS! Mario Kart 7

And here's one more trailer of an upcoming Nintendo game.
It's Mario Kart 7, which will be released later this year as well, on Dec. 4 on the 3DS as well.
(they're finally releasing games for that system?.. why didn't they release the system now instead?!)

And it looks like...much of the same.
Which is great for fans, I guess :P
Meh, my favorite Mario Kart was the SNES one. I played the DS one too for, like, 1 week, then completely forgot about it...
Don't mistake me, it is a good looking and fun game. But simply not for me..
