Hey, come on!
Nic Cage isn't a bad actor! He's totally EPIC! Some movies he's been were bad, he's always completely in-character, even when the characters are stupid :P
My buddy Clayman8 shared this with me a sec' ago, so here goes:
Man... looking back at these clips. I need to have another "CAGE-A-THON"....

FlashAnimation - Nicolas Cage Wants Cake
Here's a super random flash animation by HarryPartridge, which I 'm pretty sure I already posted work of here on this blog.
Anyways, this is really non-sense, featuring his usual slapstick fast animation, Nic Cage quotes and up beats in...Nicolas Cage Wants Cake!
...Hey, where's that chocolate cake??

Is Nicolas Cage an Highlander? - answers on the 'Late Show with David Letterman'
So what does Nic Cage thinks about the whole "Nic Cage is an immortal vampire" rumor?
Nicky finally talked about it on a recent show of David Letterman...
There you have it!
"Not a vampire".
Case closed, I guess.
...
though I guess an actual immortal vampire would actually say that exact same answer..?
Mmmh.. I guess we'll still have our doubts concerning this whole affair...

"Best of Times" - The Best of Nicolas Cage
My pal Clayman suggested I post this awesome video featuring none other that good ol' Nicky.
He was quite young there, the earliest "film" featuring Nicolas Cage in Best of Times, he was (only) 17 in this.
And apart showing us how ripped he was already, you can already glimpse the same kinda acting, voice and crazy Nicky he is to this day, sorta~
Same face, ever changing hair!! XD

Ad - Nic Cage Complete Pachinko Commercial Collection
I love Nic Cage, I seriously do.
He's a fun actor, a great guy and has magic hair.
Also, he's an immortal vampire.
And the dude's pretty funny and even if over-the-top, will always throw himself completely into the characters he plays or the movies he appears in.
Take these following Japanese commercials.
I actually thought I had posted these a long time ago, so I wanted to post all of them on by one, but thanks to some dude on youtube, here's a compilation featuring all of them!
Enjoy!

Nicolas Cage did a series of ads for Sankyo, a Pachinko maker (awesome sort of pinball/slot machine hybrid games).
And they're all crazier than the last!

CAGE News! "The Hungry Rabbit Jumps"
Here's the trailer for yet another Nicolas Cage movie, Seeking Justice aka The Hungry Rabbit Jumps aka just Justice now it seems :P
Another Nicky movie! And looking quite CAGE-tastic I'd say!
The film is being directed by Roger Donaldson (and produced by Tobey Maguire..?!).
It has already been released in Italy (for some reason...?) and the rest of the world is carefully waiting its turn.

BestOf - Awesome scenes from "Vampire's Kiss"
Here's more on Nicky for the day.
Nicolas Cage at his finest in the little cult movie Vampire's Kiss:
I love this movie. Why have so few people seen it?
I should put up a Nick Cage-marathon or something on the blog...

Nicolas Cage is an immortal undead Civil War-era soldier come back to haunt us with his hair
Fact: Nicolas Cage has magical hair.
Nic Cage is one of my favorite subjects ever.
His hair is magical.
I tried to tell you folks the truth.
Rumors: Some believe Nic Cage to be an undead unholy creature.
Some believe his hair is sentient.
New Mystery: Was Nicolas Cage a vampire during the Civil War?
A new document has been found...
This $1,000,000 photograph holds the answers...
This guy on ebay is selling this above picture.
And here's part of his item descirption straight from ebay:
The guy does have a strange resting place awaiting for him.. (a giant pyramid!!)

"Original c.1870 carte de visite showing a man who looks exactly like Nick Cage. Personally, I believe it's him and that he is some sort of walking undead / vampire, et cetera, who quickens / reinvents himself once every 75 years or so. 150 years from now, he might be a politician, the leader of a cult, or a talk show host.It makes you wonder...
This is not a trick photo of any kind and has not been manipulated in Photoshop or any other graphics program. It's an original photo of a man who lived in Bristol, TN sometime around the Civil War."

Movie NEWS! Nicky's back!
Yeah, I'm catching up on what I missed, so what??
Anyway, this lil' "pearl" was released not long ago.
Yeah, they DARED make another one! (HOORAAAY!!)
It's the Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance!
Directed by Crank director this time, Brian Taylor.
Enjoy the epicness of the Rider~
Might be bad...and yet still pretty watchable as the first one :P
Awesome!
Nobody wanted another one (besides me) and I'm glad they've made another one.
The original Ghost Rider movies might had a pretty bad to modest reception but it still made plenty o' bucks to convince Sony to produce another one (and keep the IP this way).
It will be out on Feb. 17, 2012!

Deleted Scenes - Superman: Death & Disco
In the Superman movie history, there's been a lot off would-be movies starring big blue that never made it past the pre-production stages.
Including a 5th classic Superman movie with Reeves, a Tim Burton Superman movie, another Tim Burton take with Supes on a wheelchair, a Kevin Smith-written one also directed by Burton, a Superman/Batman movie and a hundred more concepts that we may never know about! (including at one point having Nic Cage as Superman himself!!)
With a new movie announced, directed by Zack Snyder, in the work, some scrapped projects have been revealed since some key players, directors or producers won't be involved anymore.
Back in the 90s, there wa sa big boom in comics thanks to the event called "Death of Superman".
For those who dare not know about this, the story goes like this:
A monster (Doomsday) awakes beneath the earth, goes on an unstoppable rampage until he reaches Metropolis. Many heroes try to stop him... Then Superman and Doomsday clashes in one of the most epic comic book fights ever written or drawn. Doomsday is temporary defeated and Supes dies... Then 4 fake Supermen appear from nowhere (a Kryptonian, a Clone, a Cyborg and a Human!!) before one of them is actually revealed to be the actual villain. The real Superman heals back and comes back to stop that monster.
It was a huuuuge hit for comics, sales were at their highest, people talked about it on TV, Newspaper, etc..
Anyway, this fantastic event was almost adapted into several movies back then.
The plan was, while Batman was still selling a lot with Batman Forever (despite as bad as it was) to adapt the Death of Superman event as a movie, make 4 spinoff titles for each fake Superman and then have a final Return of Superman movie...which never came to be.
While this Doomsday-event made it into a pretty fun and faithful videogame and much later a great animated movie, the live movie never made it past pre-production.
It was too ambitious and not well coordinated enough.
Finally, only the Steel solo project movie (the Human Superman) was made, "loosely" based on the actual comic book character with no ties to Superman with Shaquille O'Neal as Steel.
Now, flash to the year 2000s.
Before Zack Snyder took in the franchise recently, there were some scripts by J.J.Abrams featuring more kryptonians-inspired science fiction with Bryan Singer (X-men 2, Superman Returns) on board as director (with Brett Ratner as another possible director).
The movie would have been called Superman Fly-By (also rumoured as Superman: Man of Steel).
We didn't knew a thing about this movie...only it would have probably also featured Brandon Routh as Clark Kent.
Thanks to special effects designer Steve Johnson, we now can guess what the direction and even the plot would have been thanks to some pics he revealed.
And the reason I talked about Doomsday... it seems it would have been another shot at bringing the Death Of Superman to the big screen (guess who that monster is supposed to be):
The costume looked sort of inspired by some Elseworlds comics and the DC One Million lineup.
This makes me ask...why should adaptations be only taking from the classic/modern characters and not some variations of 'em as well?
Doomsday looks sort of generic, like the Abomination was in the Incredible Hulk movie. Typical over-complicated CGi hollywood modern monster-stuff. Yet I like that genetically enhanced creature look he gives me.
Will the actual new movie/reboot by Zack Snyder be actually better/worse? Will it feature a better_/worse costume design for Supes? (please, let him sport a big-ass S-shield logo!! not that ridiculous tiny one from Superman Returns!!)
And finally, if you tought all this was awful, be ready for worse now!
Something more....disco!
In the late 90s, Tim Burton wanted to have another shot at Superman -which none of his proposed ideas came to be before.
His last script, born from the ashes of the Kevin Smith synopsis was called Superman Lives.
It was supposed to be a gritty retelling and re-imagining of Supes.
And Steve Johnson also revealed concepts and tests of Superman's costume for this disaster:
°___°
I'm glad this catastrophe never made it past testing!
I don't even wanna think what Burton really had in mind for Supes here...
Hey, it doesn't even beat Nicolas Cage's Superman! :P

Very nice subtle redesign by BeyondComics.TV, a more colorful and faithful approach

Why I love watching Nic Cage movies
I love Nicolas Cage movies!
He's done some pretty kickass movies (Raising Arizona, Matchstick Men,..) some great blockbusters (Con Air, Face/Off, The Rock, National Treasure...) even great comedies (Honeymoon in Vegas, Family Man..)!
But people tend to hate/critize the guy for a minor bad movie or two...
Let the haters hate!...
Anyway, I specially dig the guy for his similar personality in most movies, his ever changing hair and his scene like this:
Nicky rules!

Movie NEWS! Drive Angry trailer
It's time for yet a new Nic Cage movie!
Drive Angry is the new flick where you'll be able to get your monthly dose of Cage-a-pocalpytic epic action.
I already talked about this one not long ago, on the blog here.
Basically. A sort of Ghost Rider. (deal, demons, driving angry, wheels on fire...)
Drive Angry is directed by Patrick Lussier, and will hit theaters on February 11, 2011 in the US. And a bit later in Europe (like always).
Here's the trailer~
Speaking of Nicky, did you check out my parody comic strip @ CoolApe?

Movie NEWS! Comic movies update!
Here's a new round-up off the upcoming new Comic Movies adaptations!
First up, Captain America: The First Avenger!
We can finally have a good look at Cap's costume, thanks to some shots taken during its production.
His costume, the shield (pictured above), some henchmen and some old school vehicles of the era.
As you can see, in the costume it's not Chris Evans, the actor playing Steve Rogers, but a stuntman.
(or an older Captain? some other "character" in the suit..?)
Anyway, the suit looks good. Very Ultimate Marvel-ysh. The helmet makes me think of those awful TV movies of Captain America (not the watchable later movie with the great costume)
Here's some more shots:
I like those Rocketeer-like henchmen! Old school!
A little info about the new Ghost Rider movie.
Yep, another one!
I kinda liked the first one, despite how supra-powerful the Rider was and how easily he defeated those "boss fights". And Blackheart, the main foe, was pretty stupid and kinda lame.. Oh well... At least the Rider looked great, there was a ghost horse on fire, Sam Elliot and the Rider even used his "Penance Stare" (TM), something I wouldn't even imagine someone adapting live in a movie ever!
So the movie will be called Ghost Rider: Spirits Of Vengeance. It is written by David S. Goyer, Nicky will be back as the torso for the good ol' CGi flammehead and it will be directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor who made the movie Crank.
It is supposed to take place some years later after the first one, Johnny Blaze is on the run, still kickin' demon's ass and such...
The movie will be darker and more violent.. but I guess producers say that for every new super hero movie now these days, specially after the Dark Knight...
And finally, some stuff about the new lackbuster straight from the super-duper producers at 20th Century Fox, the brilliant minds behind such "classics" as Elektra, the Fantastic Four and X-Men 3... -sigh-
X-Men First Class! A movie which just finally started after adding to the cast a ton of unnecessary more charaters to an already convulted mass characters-filled movie...
It will be a prequel in the Fox's X-Men movies, taking places in the 60s... and...oh god... that's already too much right there..
I would have prefered an in-movie-universe Marvel flick X-Men. Not another Fox' movie. Another lackbuster..
It's not even a real movie, but a cheap cash-in, 20th Century Fox is only making this movie to keep the rights before they revert back to Disney/Marvel, they even admitted it!!
(like they'll be doing with the Fantastic Four soon too)
Anyway, the whole concept sounds crazy...
Moving on!
Here's a first look at Emma Frost, the White Queen. Who's in fact an 80s/90s character (and with her current "interpretation" being from the 2000s).
Couldn't they use like Quick Silver or the Scarlet Witch instead? Those would be great for a story taking place in the sixties.. (I completly hate this concept as well.. it could have been an excuse to use retro costumes, the original X-Men First Class characters.. instead.. we won't have Cyclops but Havok..making the movie Summers Brothers completly unrelated..)
Sure, her costume's not as skimpy as the comic one...Rather, she looks soviet-ysh.
Call me pessimistic, I'm not really feeling this direction...

Movie'n'TV NEWS! Moar Nicky, Zombies and the Blue Beetle!
It's time for a new round-up of coming soon entertainment stuff~
First up, the trailer to a new new Nicolas Cage movie!!
And before the emo kids start their rage, lemme tell you simply that
NIC CAGE RULES!
Look at those eyes! It's the eyes of a mandman, a MADMAN!!
That ever changing hair... It's the work of the DEVIL himself!!
Err.. Anyways...
Nic Cage's new movie Drive Angry, will be out around 23 July 2010.
It's the story of a man, who makes a bad deal with the devil and turns out into a lone rider chasing after demons and stuff.. HEY!! Didn't we see that movie already?!?
But this time it will be original (...what?!) and not based on a comic book character! (oh!) And he's got real fake hair this time, not CGi hair on fire!
And finally, thanks to the Comic Con, here's the footage trailer for the upcoming Walking Dead TV adaptation!
I...kinda like it! A lot!
Looks true to the comic's spirit! Can't wait to check out more of it~
And remember that Blue Beetle footage Geoff Johns talked about recently?
Well, we now can watch it in motion!!
Well...huh...how to start?...
This is just early test footage - as far as "test footages" go, this is pretty ok. We get the vibe they're aiming for. Looks decent and could translate pretty well into a live action show.
Now, based on what we have here... well this Jaime wouldn't be the real actor in the end. So... Bad/cheap acting... hey, I'm all for cheesy/B acting!
And the CGi looks kinda simple and uninspired...but it is just a test!
I just hope they have a decent enough budget or this will turn out like Smallville's Superman (you know, entirely based on Soap/drama-dialogues..and Superman running fast all the time... only running fast...nothing more...)

NEWS! Nicky is crazy and some pictures of stuff...
Hey guys! Ready for some News! and crazy Nicolas Cage's hair?
Here's the brand new trailer for the new Nicky movie!
The Sorcerer's Apprentice it's called.
I dunno what it will exactly be about, but I'll be watching it for Nicky's hair only XD
Here's some new posters for my highly expected summer flick, Predators.
From the guys at the Saturn Junkyard and the Dreamcast Junkyard it seems like the classic Sega systems will be making appearancesin the new Virtua Fighter as "clothing objects" °__O
Well, after the Dreamcast cameo in Sonic Unleashed, I'm not that surprised by this one.
Though, no love for the Master System? Shame on you, AM2!
And finally a little comic-related news.
I may be reading a lot less Marvel stuff nowadays, but I'm still following the current direction of their series.
It seems like Charles Xavier's finally following his own advices, "helping mutants and humans live side by side". Finally some non-mutants in the X-men?
In the new X-men event "we are the X-men", from the looks of the teaser pics, it seems like they will finally accept other heroes such as Elektra and Spidey!
Elektra may sound strange, but being a close friend to Wolverine and having a similar relation to the ninja groupd the Hand as Psylocke, I can accept that. Plus it seems she will be paid by Archangel to work with the team. Spidey's a nice idea though. I'd rather prefer his inclusion on the X-men over the Avengers. Makes more sense (wouldn't the Avengers' status and money help him and his problems with his aunt?...no!... No thank you Tony and Steve!)
Kinda reminds me of a crossover episode of Spider-man and the X-men on the classic 90s cartoon.
That's it for t'day! See ya!~
Seriously guys... He doesn't wear a wig, he's got MAGICAL HAIR!!
Here's the brand new trailer for the new Nicky movie!

See ya!~
