OpeningTheme - TRANSFORMERS EVO Japanese Opening

Speaking of Transformers, here's the super epic Japanese theme song from the Transformers: Animated series. Where the series is there called Transformers: EVO instead.

Check this out!

...okay, so that's the full version of the song, so sue me!

Ad - "Georgia coffee" by David Lynch

Here's one of these Japanese ads as I like 'em.

This one directed by David Lynch and using some Twin Peaks' characters, just because:

I love how random they often get :P
Playing with American actors and whatnot~
Such a fun mixed bag of culture!

Once again, for this Japanese coffee in can.

Coop seems so natural and comfortable in this video, and even the log lady's here!! XD
They do love their Twin Peaks over there.

Manga NEWS! Kenshin gets live

Here's yet another one of these recent movie adaptations from good ol' popular mangas/animes.

This one will also be a Japanese movie (like the recently announced Ranma, Phoenix Wright and Harlock) rather than an American butcher-job...
One of my all-time favorite classic mangas is getting the treatment this time.
Rurouni Kenshin!

Kenshin, for the ones of you who don't know, is a story about this self-titled young retired Samurai living in the Meiji Era. (after the long Edo period, Meiji marked the time when Japan decided to live the old rules away, start opening his culture to the outside world and progress and Samurais became obsolete)
This manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki also generated a pretty decent anime (with too much fillers though) and some pretty popular and successful OVAs. (too kinda dark-ysh for my tastes...)

Warner Bros is actually behind this film, though besides that it's an entirely Japanese production.
Studio Swan will take care of making the film, directed by Keishi Ōtomo and starring Takeru Satoh (Kamen Rider Den-O) as Kenshin and Emi Takei as Kaoru.

And here's the teaser trailer:

It's actually looking prettycool.
The movie's sheduled for a August 25, 2012 release date in Japan.
From what I've read, the staff  aims to release the film internationally and eventually make a seriesout of this. (kinda like the Cutey)

Always loved Kenshin!^^
One of my all-time favorite mangas! :D

It's the first time I've heard about this movie! I honestly can't wait!
Knowing French otakus (I live in Switzerland) I guess this will be released on DVD less than 3 months after its release in Japanese theaters, or something like that :P

The movie's looking a bit closer to the original OVA rather than the manga, a bit more serious/realistic.
Crossing fingers, let's hope this turns out great!

FanFilmFriday: Street Fighter Zero 2 - Live Action!!

So there's been various attempts to bring Street Fighter to live, including various parodiesmock-umentaries, and official interpretations, a good movie people call bad and a bad movie people call good..
-sigh-

Anyways,
Here's a pretty fun live action Street Fighter segment from a Japanese game show.
Yes, a game show, people playing from a "sidescroller" view, to defeat their competition and whatnot in a SF setting.

Enjoy, it's pretty good :P

Why am I loving this Sakura so much? XD

Anyway, it's great to see some Street Fighter Alpha/Zero represented for a change!

Ad - Nic Cage Complete Pachinko Commercial Collection

I love Nic Cage, I seriously do.
He's a fun actor, a great guy and has magic hair.
Also, he's an immortal vampire.

And the dude's pretty funny and even if over-the-top, will always throw himself completely into the characters he plays or the movies he appears in.

Take these following Japanese commercials.
Nicolas Cage did a series of ads for Sankyo, a Pachinko maker (awesome sort of pinball/slot machine hybrid games).
And they're all crazier than the last!

I actually thought I had posted these a long time ago, so I wanted to post all of them on by one, but thanks to some dude on youtube, here's a compilation featuring all of them!

Enjoy!

Ad - Grindhouse Action Cop Japanese Movie w Tommy Lee Jones

Okay! Enough Tommy Lee Jones on my blog! Man, I posted a LOAD of them!
Here's the last one, I swear (for now).

This one is a great parody on old school 70s/80s cop movies from Japan.
It seems, I think, that they've simply inserted TLJ on various shots of some old movie.

Check it out,

WOAH!
'Didn't see that coming, did ya? ;'3

And that's it for now, as far as Tommy Lee Jones-related commercials go.
Next up, two more last Japanese Ads-posts with the return of two other favorites of mine!

Ad - Tommy Lee Jones watches and listens quite well

Here's one more with Tommy Lee Jones!
Watch as the conflict between old and new try to co-exist...

At least, that's how I understood this one :P
Pretty random. As usual.

Ad - Sly is back for some sausage, fries, bike and time spent with some kids

No really, it wasn't meant to sound dirty. See, look below!

Would you call these sort of Japanese ads "selling out" or "having fun" away from the US for these sort of actors? :P
