#Movie NEWS! New Dark Knight Rises trailer!

...speaking of Batman, did I post this one already? Not sure, 'dunno...

Anyhow, here's the latest Dark Knight Rises trailer:

Opinions?

Honestly, I'm not entirely sold on this.
I mean, sure they got lots of money and are throwing it in our faces every shot, but, I just dunno... It might be victim of "too much, too little". Also too much hype from the past Bat-movies and Nolan's recent Inception-success.

I'm not feeling the plot, over-gritty, the characters, that silly Catwoman and the badly represented Bane, or even Bats himself. Heck, by this point, he's barely been an interesting character nor the focus of the past 2 films. So...

#Comics NEWS! some new Dark Knight Rises pics

Here's a bunch of new promo material for the upcoming Dark Knight Rises.

And apart from the above "comic book-ysh" shot of Bats vs. Bane, they look sorta bland and generic, and way too over-photoshoped.
Though I can imagine some teens hangings these on their walls.

Check 'em out:

#Movie NEWS! New Dark Knight Rises pictures

Here's a bunch of new pics from Christopher Nolan's upcoming Dark Knight Rises thanks to Entertainment Weekly.

And no excuses like "they look bad because they're posing around, showing the costumes, etc." or filming.

This time, these are actual stills from the film!

See that one above, 4 pics above? That's actually what Bane will look like with the movie's proper picture and lightning.

Ugh... seeing this "live Catwoman", and how Bale!Batman looked...  Reminds me why I find these to be good movies but bad Batman stories... (<- that's just my opinion!)

Fanmade - BATMAN doesn't beat up RETARDS!

With the upcoming new Batman film The Dark Knight Rises, I thought it would be à propos to start mocking that ugly Bane we're gonna get in live action.
You know, "that one", with the thing over his head/face/mouth.

Check out this fan made flash animation:

Exactly my point!

DC News! Learn to read with The Dark Knight!

Here's some random tie-in merchandising.

These are books designed to teach preschoolers to read, and based on Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.

HaperCollins will release a bunch of these books around the movie's release date.
They're aimed at young readers, and bound to be a tiny bit spoiler-ysh I guess.

This oughta be telling us something about the movie's quality, which I've been doubting since the announcement...

Toy NEWS! The Dark Knight Sinks

Thanks to some ad for toys in a comics/magazine, we now know how Bane and Catwoman will actually look like in Warner's upcoming flick Dark Knight Rises, and it's...

(Click on the above pictures for bigger res'!)

...and OH GOD! MY EYES!! IT BURNS!! HAAA!!

No, really. It's not that awful.
But they look bad.
Such...silly designs. Nothing iconic. You'll have them forgotten in 2 years top!

Bane is...ugh... And Catwoman seems to come from some random bad con/bank heist movie.

Movie NEWS! various teasers and trailers

The new Batman gets a trailer, the new Tolkien epic is revealed and an upcoming Ridley Scott movie's trailer gets its own trailer!
How crazy is that?!
First up, Peter Jackson's all-new Lord of the Ring episode The Hobbit is finally revealed!
The movie gets a poster...

A summary...

The first of a two-part film based on J.R.R. Tolkien's novel of the same name, due for release in December 2012.

And a trailer!...

A two parter...
I don't really know if this book actually need such...but I loved the last movies I know filmed like so.
(well... The Matrix 2&3 and BTTF Part 2&3)
Wait and see~

(though I'm not that a fan of fantasy anymore, these days...)

~

Last week Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises had its trailer leaked over the net...but Warner took care of that and took 'em out. This week we can finally have an official look at the sequel:

This is looking nice. Definitively a good movie. A good Batman movie, I'm not so sure..

(then again, I love the previous Nolan-esque Batmans as movies, but as great as the Joker was, the Batman part was always sorta...I dunno....wrong to me..)
This Bane is definitively looking like a great character (like the villains in the past movies), but his voice though...

~

Finally, here's something new regarding Ridley Scott's new movie, Prometheus.
Prometheus had such a long and convulsed development.
First an Alien prequel, then not anymore, finally back as an Alien prequel. Only not in name.
Why? Because it won't be featuring the titular monsters.

Simply summarized, it is a prequel to the story seen in the first Alien movie.
We won't see Xenomorphs in it. Humans will come in contact to alien creatures. (the giant fossilized "Space Jockey" from the first movie?) They will probably leave a signal for Ripley's team in the first movie at the end.

The movie itself is being directed by Scott with H.R.Giger back on creature and direction design.
They're quite secretive concerning this new movie.

And we don't even have a trailer so far...and only this "teaser" for the actual upcoming teaser trailer:

Looking nice so far, from the few we know.
After a good entryin the Predator franchise (Predators), are we getting a good new Alien entry as well? XD
Looks like the curse of the AVP movies is finally burned in the ground for good!

Movie NEWS! New comic-to-film posters!

Here's some all-new posters for two upcoming comic book movies.

First up, The Dark Knight Rises!

Well, from the looks of it, I'm expecting the movie to follow Knightfall pretty closely now...
Bane will break the Bat? "The Legend Ends", then below "The Dark Knight Rises"? Gotta take a pick, you gotta decide Hollywood people... Will Bats end or rise?

And is it only me or does it remind you guys of that famous Spider-man picture...

From the throwaway used super-costume to the walking away under the rain pose...only here it is the villain walking off and not the hero...foreshadowing plot points maybe?

Speaking of Spidey, here's the all-new poster for the rebooted franchise Amazing Spider-Man!

What do I have to say about this one?
Gee...how to start...
First up, when superhero movie posters start pouring in, it rains!

And why do both movies have such similar stylistically designed posters to begin with? Same graphic artist on both?
They both look so bland and boring... I can already imagine silly teenage kids saying "HEY! They look cool, I want BOTH of them on my bedroom's wall!! XD!!Lol1!!1!11"

Anyway, the Spider-man is really scr#wed up by its awful tagline... "The Untold Story"...of his origins? Again??
Cliché! Silly! Unnecessary!

Dark Knight "60's style" Opening TV Theme

Did I post this already?
I don't remember if I posted this before?
Too lazy to check out...oh well!~

Here's a remake of the classic intro of the Batman 1966 TV series, Dark Knight Style!

Nice :D

Sidenote: You can easily see how dark and colorless the new movie is.
And no excuse "but its more realistic that way" it 's just plain boringly grey and "grim and gritty".

Movie NEWS! Catwoman Rises

Here's some new pics from The Dark Knight Rises finally showing a better look at Anne Hathaway in the role of Selina Kyle!Catwoman.
Our previous first look at the movie's interpretation didn't give us a proper Catwoman vibe.

Yup, looks like she'll be sporting....cat-ears!!
But does she really need those heels? I mean, will she jump around rooftops with those?

No cat-tail it seems for this version of Catwoman.
(probably the whip attached around the hips, Darwyn Cooke-style)

"Hurr hurr!"

A 20-Minute Explanation of Why the Dark Knight Chase Scene Sucks, Even If You Liked It

Did the Dark Knight's chase scene made any sense in the movie?
This guy (below) thinks not.
And you know what, for all the fanboy-ism for this movie, all the praise and all the money its made (and the fact I've seen it twice in theaters, I never spent movie watching movies twice on theaters...), I still find it's a great and entertaining movie but far from perfect.

Personally my problem lies in the editing, specially on action scenes... But that's more of a general problem with most modern mainstream movies. (why does the camera work keep shakin' them? can't they film clear action scenes anymore nowadays?? shaky cam =/= good action scene!!!)

Anyway, let's hear the guy out:

You can read more on this guy's opinion on toplessrobot.com.

And all I want to add is, for once someone dares critique this movie!

Movie NEWS! Catwoman - first look!

Warner Bros just delivered our first look at the new Superman.
Here's some news on the Batman front as well.

More precisely, the first look at Anne Hathaway in the role of Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Christopher Nolan's upcoming The Dark Knight Rises.

AAAANND...I'm officially worried about the direction this flick is going to.
Bane left me skeptical, but this...

And don't FANBOY at me. Good director or not, good cast or not, a movie is the sum of its part, from design/story to post-production.

About the "Bat-tumbler-bike" thingie, or whatever it's called, I'm pretty sure she stole it from Bats, kinda the same way the Catwoman from Tim Burton flick did steal some tech from her foes (the electrocutioner comes to mind), perhaps it's even the one

Movie NEWS! BANE revealed!

Here's how Bane will look like in The Dark Knight Rises.
So?
Happy? Traumatized? Ok with the changes?
I dunno for you, but it kinda looks like he's wearing underwear over his face :P

And here's the real Bane for the ones that already missing him:

More pictures from the set, below!

Wasn't that Bat-car destroyed in the previous flick? Aww, sucks...
And I was hopeing to see a more Batmobile Batmobile this time around...

Movie NEWS! DKR Teaser Trailer!

"The epic conclusion to the Dark Knight Legend!"

We've seen the teaser poster, here's the trailer finally!
Including a first look at Bane near the end - catch it~

Sweet!
Well, that's all I had to say.
Will Batman's back be broken?
Will the city turn into a "no man's land"?

Movie NEWS! X-men *ups*, Spidey, Hydra and Bats

Here's some tiny tidbits for the day!

First, just saying I've updated my X-men post from yesterday with better pictures!
Well, only the pictures' quality is better, not the movie itself.

Secondly there's been some pics from the new Spider-man (reboot) movie.
And it may be "currently in production" and with no filters applied to the screen whatsoever (normal!). But I wanted to say the costume, from far away, does look pretty nice and colorful.
Even faithful, as blurry as it may look here.
(video here)

Maybe his belt is removable? (which explains the previous sneak pic-reveal "battle damaged" look going on)

As for Captain America,
here's an Hydra Truck from the movie:

Historically accurate?

And finally, on Batman's side.
Christopher Nolan revealed some details about his upcoming Dark Knight Rises.

The villains were announced! (at least the following ones, some other 3rd one may surrise us in the movie, as usual)

Anne Hathaway will play Selina Kyle (and Catwoman?), while Tom Hardy will play Bane.
Kinda sad for Bane..one of the few Hispanic Bat-characters, couldn't they get some better suited actor for the role? (he's even sported an accent and well matched actor in all cartoons!)
They better turn him into the intelligent enemy he's always been in the comics, I'm kinda tired of the Batman & Robin (movie) stereotype Bane that has been going on in Batman media.
As for Catwoman? I'm not that "hip" on Hollywood current actors and as no idea who that skinny girl is. :/

Here's what Christopher Nolan said about Hathaway:
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story." And about Hardy, he says: "I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman's most formidable enemies."

MOVIE NEWS! Ironman 3 and Christopher Nolan's new flick

In case you didn't follow the news lately, a Ironman 3 will be made... after the big MARVEL crossover movie Avengers.

The "movie road" to Avengers is paved by (chronologically) by Ironman, Ironman 2, Incredible Hulk (which happens after Ironman 2 from what we can see with Stark Entreprise's evolution), Thor and First Avenger: Captain America.

And after that?

It seems there's gonna be a new batch of Marvel adaptations, after the Avengers crossover.
Like Antman! A rumoured Luke Cage! And Ironman 3.

Behold!! The Mandarin!!... He's got ten rings and his all evil! *sigh*

I've never really been a fan of the Mandarin. Then again, I've never really been a fan of Ironman himself before the movies...
He's always acted like a douche, he's selfish, a rich guy with no problems (and don't you dare quoting the alcohol problem, like it was really that much of a problem in the first place!)... During the comic event Civil Wars, it was difficult to see Ironman's side winning instead of the good-hearted Captain America's.

But it's logical to have Ironman finally meeting the movie version of the Mandarin at some point, like having the Green Goblin in Spider-man or Magneto in X-men. He's his iconic cult antagonist, no matter how silly a guy with magic rings could be. (plus there's been so many references to his "Ring" order in both Ironman movies!)

Here's Jon Favreau talking about all that:

By then (what's it gonna be? 2012? later?) the Marvel Moviverse TM (I just made up Marvel Moviverse!, quote me on that! : P) will have magic (Thor) and stuff (supersoldier serum/Hulk/Captain).
I'm sure the magic rings can kinda work in a movie! Just make them mystical and part machine or something~
And it's not like the Ironman armour is that much realistic, I mean, did you see how he wears it, with that much firepower and even an AI/super computer inside!

Moving on-

On Christopher Nolan's side, who's not yet ready to make a new Batman movie but almost, there's a new movie called Inception coming!

Oh, come on!! Did they have to rehash the Dark Knight teaser posters!
'Like in case we weren't sure he's the one who directed it!

I find myself that such a director as Christopher Nolan works better on more indie movies.
Having him back on something more original is great news! (like he did inbetween both previous Batman movies)

This sounds pretty unique but enough talk, here's some spots for ya kids:
