It's time to show some light on the upcoming game adaptation of the movie Captain America (which is an adaptation itself of a comic book... -phew!)!
Captain America: Super Soldier will be "an original" story taking place in Marvel's Movie Universe.
It won't be a straightforward port of the movie's plot.
Yet I have a hard time believing the game will be any good. Not because "all movie adaptations suck" (they didn't use to, on the contrary, just check any movie game on the SNES or Megadrive!) . But because these recent comic-to-movies-to-games have all been quite rushed lately.
The Marvel ones or DC ones.
Doesn't matter the developer (Sega in this instance), because they always end up having to rush the game to meet the movie's deadlines or earlier!
Batman Begins, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Superman Returns, Incredible Hulk...
Yet non-movie comic book adaptations have been great with no pressure on them, The Punisher, Arkham Asylum, Spider-man Shattered Dimensions..
Anyway here's some screens now:
The game will be out on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, PSP, DS, Wii...
Speaking of which, you'll better keep your attention on that last one.
Because it will be based on the comics and not the movie (and still have the same release date and pressure however).
Here's the only current pic of it:
And finally a trailer for the main version:
