Scott Pilgrim vs. The Animation
The Scott Pilgrim short cartoon has finally aired.
Now, you can check it out online for free thanks to [adult swim]
!WARNING! SPOILERS!!
Before watching this video, you might either check the movie or have at least read only the first 2 Graphic Novels (Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life & Scott Pilgrim vs. The World)
Scott Pilgrim vs. The Animation was done by the animation studio Titmouse Inc.
Bryan Lee O'Malley, the comic book author said "It's gonna be like a series of short animations".
So this won't lead to a cartoon series, well 'not like we need another adaptation of the story with the movie and cartoon out, but will instead be little shorts focused around some events.
This first short is based on the flashback of the beginning of Scott Pilgrim vs the World.
And it was dubbed by actors from the live movie~
I really like myself how this modern-ysh 2D animation matches the art style and brings it to life with its simple design :'3
Now, enjoy~

Toon NEWS! Scott Pilgrim vs the Animation!!
More news for Scott Pilgrim!
There's not only gonna be a Scott Pilgrim movie, now there's gonna be an animated feature as well!
Scott Pilgrim vs the Animation will be a 2-part short animated to air on August 12th on [adult swim] (and probably be released later on the movie DVD/Bluray).
Now, if you're asking me what the heck is Scott Pilgrim, I think I already covered that in that post.
This animated project is overseen by both Bryan Lee O’Malley and Edgar Wright.
The idea seems to have come from those 2 and at Universal, and will be a good way to give life to a scene that was scrapped from the movie.
The toon will be animated by an ex-Cartoon Network studio that works for [adult swim] now.
The voice over will be done by the movie actors.
Anyway, here's some screens to see how faithful the artstyle will be:
And a clip here:
And finally [adult swim] trailer:

Movie NEWS! Scott Pilgrim vs. Eyz's blog
Scott Pilgrim's coming to the theatres in August 13-25 (depending where you live).
Whaaaa~t? You don't know Scott Pilgrim vs. The World?
Here's a super quick run down, for newcomers:
It's an indie canadian comic about a slacker 20~something guy who has to defeat all of his new girlfriend's past evil exes! Yeah. "Just" that!
It's a very fun and random black & white comic made by Bryan Lee O'Malley.
I'm a big fan of indie comics and this was one heckuva ride, if you don't know it!
It's draw very manga-like, as a choice made by the artist. It's sort of an homage/parody/tribute to shonen mangas, where the characters got some developments here and there, then spend most of their time fighting a bunch of bad guys and getting stronger all the time.
Oh, and there's a lot of reference to Canada & pop culture, so in some way it's a manga designed for a generation who grew up with videogames, 80s/90s flicks & music, etc...
Here's some pages:
And now's the trailer to the live adaptation by Edgar Wright, director and creator of Spaced, Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead:
Looks...intense! And fun! And pretty random!
Quite faithful I'd say! Wooah!
Here's some more Scott Pilgrim-a-tion!
Gaming references to find in the books:
