#E3 NEWS! 1st day recap part 2

E3 2012 continue!
Let's have a look at what Ubi's showed this year!
First, Assassin's Creed!

I'm trying to avoid spoilers and watching too much, but this new Assassin's Creed 3 is shaping up quite nicely!

Here's an all-new CGi trailer:

...and because Ive got so much hype for it, here's another more cinematic and less spoiler-y trailer:

It seems the game will be oustanding!
It will include some new elements such as naval warfare and a complete and realistic weather system. (the weather in past games was more locally and settings generated, to set the mood during the story).

And here's some gameplay just for comparison, to see how more improved and realistic it is now:

And accompanying this title there will be a 2nd Assassin's Creed game, on a portable system. Like with much of the previous titles.

This time something more original though.

Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will be an exclusive episode for the Vita.
But unlike past PSP and DS game it won't feature Altair or Ezio, or bring Connor from the main new episode on a portable adventure.

Instead it will have new story that takes place in New Orleans and stars the series’ first ever female heroine!
How cool is that! I've been hoping to see some more new characters and original protagonists on portable episode. And now I see it will have this kickass lady as main character - something I'd have even preferred in a main episode.

Anyway this looks like 1 definitive good reason to get this console! (like I wrote here in the past, I need at least 5 good reasons to wanna invest in a new system)

Sony already announced a bundle with the game, something that will sell some consoles no doubt!

~

Meanwhile, the new Rayman gets explained and new infos.

Rayman Legends seems to be confirmed for almost all possible systems. (Wii U, PS3, 360, 3DS, Vita, etc.)
But only the Wii U version's been showed, as well as it's Wii U exclusive aspects, such as using the screen-gyroscopic controller, etc.
A new returning character from Rayman 2 named Murphy.
And more!

The game is a direct sequel to Origins and will sport more of the same kind of gorgeous 2D graphics. I'm not a big fan of the new shading. But it looks great nonetheless!

Check this out, there's some mix of 2D and 3D here and there, and it looks fantastic!

~

But WAIT!
That's not all!
Some other ips have returned, such as Sam Fisher!

Splinter Cell Blacklist looks simply amazing!
It seems it will have a new engine, and spotlight the best gameplay elements of the franchise so far.
I hope for more Conviction that Double Agent personally.
Also a core element from the series has been announced integrated into the gameplay now. What could it be...?

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be out next year.
It will bring some more Assassins Creed element to the series, with more walls and buildings being climbable!

Welcome to Forth Echelon...

Can't wait to see Sam back in action!

~

And that is not all!
Ubi also announced some new ips unlike many others.

Such as Watch Dogs.
It will be an action thriller that plays like an open-world "superhero" game. With tech and gadgets at your services.

Here's a trailer:

No systems yet.
It does look great though.

~

And if that wasn't enough for ya, there's also a more simpler and mindless fun game, ZombiU for Wii U!
Don't disregard it due to its title though.

Looks legit to me!

It seems this one was built from the remains of  Killer Freaks from Outer Space, Ubisoft's former Wii U horror exclusive -shown at E3 last year - which has been canned and recycled it seems.
This could well be a nice surprise for next year!

It looks like a Dead Island meet Dead Rising mix. And it is being developed at Ubi Montpellier!

~

And that is all for this post!

E3 NEWS! lots MOAR trailers PartIII

(...)
Continuing our way through some of these recently revealed trailers and videos of upcoming titles!
First of all, let's start with something good. Something less violent and mainstream.
I tend to not be much of a "Playstation" guy, probably something to do with my "generation", and growing up with the 16-bits generation. But this game is something everyone who's got any system should check out at least once. (not games like Halo or Uncharted, but this one below)

It's the upcoming re-released Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection!
HD or original, the game at heart is the same.

Speaking of which, there's also a Splinter Cell HD collection coming up.

Simply titled Splinter Cell Trilogy. (HA! They left out Double Agent! hahaha - yes, I am mocking that awful episode) and if this isn't to your liking, having ALREADY played/owning all those 3 and don't care much for re-editions like me, there this:

A brand new title, Splinter Cell 6! But Ubi didn't reveal any footage on its panel...
This one won't be developed by Assassin's Creed team Ubisoft Montreal, but by their new developing team Ubisoft Toronto Studios, freshly opened a little ago.

I thought I'd share this, it looks like Paramount is developing a random Star Trek game for the PSNetwork.

Yeah, it looks as random as it sounds.
MEH :P
(generic scifi survival 3rd person game? uhh...yeah..sure...*roll eyes*)

Do you like BATMAN?
Do you wanna spend some money on ANY BAT-RELATED product??
Here's something while you wait for Arkham City:

It's Gotham City Impostors!
A random rip-off Team Fortress with sort of Bat-inspired character?
(and they say people have so few money in this economy...)

Let's close this post on this movie tie-in, from Spielberg & co!

The Adventures of Tintin, by Ubi.
Yeah, they say it's gonna be a "companion" to the movie. they say they're helping the game come along nicely.
But they always say that. Or that it will expand upon/tell a sidestory.

Anyway, I'll be back for more in another post!

What did you do this weekend?!

Bringing back an ol' feature of the blog.
What did you do this weekend?

Me?
I've read a lot of stuff...
Mostly some Green Lantern titles (as a matter of fact, I wanted to put up a new GL comics review.. not sure if it will be older GL comics or the Blackest Night event..)
I've also been playing a lot again lately...
As a matter of fact, I should have the Splatterhouse 3 review around, as soon as I finish it.
It's a darn' difficult game! But you'll hear more on that soon~

Other than that?
I've been playing mostly some "next gen" games lately.
Since I finally played through Double Agent lately, I'm now through Splinter Cell Conviction.
I really like the gameplay, the feel, the look...it's a great step ahead for the SC franchise. It's a great game...up until the point I'm in currently....
Playing through a "flashback" sequence... where Sam is a soldier in a war.. and... How to put it...?...
I buy and play Splinter Cell games because I don't buy and play war shooters like Modern Warfare... Putting this flashback sequences PLAYABLE isn't helping me like this game..
Plus the more parkour-styled gameplay of Splinter Cell Conviction makes this moment plays a bit ackward... oh well, at least it isn't supposed to be that long anymore (the sequence)...

I've also tried to get back to Resident Evil 5.
Since I covered all past episodes, I guess RE5 is next!
(I'll probably do the Remake and some other things after five)
I almost forgot everything about RE5..it's hard to jump back in it...

I do not just play modern games...
I also like to go back to some classics every now and then. I always find them more pleasing and fun for late gameplays or on weekends!
I've played me some neat Megadrive action this weekend.
Looney tunes games (Yay!!), Bubsy 1 & 2 (ugh...), etc...
I like to go back to 8 bits or 16 bits games. It's a great fresh breath in these days of ultra-realistic-serious-grimm n gritty games.

But worry not Spider-friends *said in my Stan Lee voice imitation*
I did not just play those games above.
I've just bought Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions (or as we call it in Europe, from the looks of the Pal box, "Spider-Man Dimensions" - pictured below)
And WOOW! It's quite nice!
Very nice game! Specially after Web of Shadows (talked about in a previous "WDYDTW" blog post), which wasn't that bad but not very good either.
This game looks beautiful! And is fun!
And finally, a level based Spider-man game!! Wow! I mean, sure an Open World is fun...for a little while...
But seriously... Be it the movie games or WoS... You can easily enjoy them every once and a while...turning on the game...zipping through NYC... but during a playthrough, when you only reach the middle point of the game..it gets boring quickly!
Beating down repetitive bad guys, helping kids, finding a couple of missions here or there...
Plus you always end up having to backtrack, go from one point to another, and back, and again, back again, etc... RzzzzzZzz....
Open world/sandbox type of games get repetitive quick..and boring..and once you've seen the "(game)world", you've seen it all, be it under symbiotic attack or under robots rampages...
This Spider-man SD isn't the ultimate perfect Spidey game either... But it's the most fun Spidey-experience I had since the first 3D Spider-man game (on Dreamcast/N64/PS1).
Stan Lee's back narrating, the plot's fun, the writting better than WoS (or as I like to call it "Emo-symbiote-Spider-man, the videogame) and the voice acting pretty darn' good!

NTSC and PAL Boxart next to each other
(though the UK still get the "Shattered" part of the title)

Oh and Miguel O'Hara has a very strange old-ysh voice (because of its classic Spider-man voice actore), which may sounds off at first, but really grew on me after a while, hearing him make jokes and all~
