Comic NEWS! MORE DC Animated movies (and BATMAN)

We already have Batman: Under the Red Hood coming now and Superman/Batman: Apocalypse later this year, in September.

Now, at Comic Con, DC announced the three new animated movies to expect in 2011.

All-Star Superman will be the next movie, coming some time in early to mid-2011.
It will be based on the graphic novel of the same name by Grant Morrison & Frank Quitely.
Which is great news, since I was afraid Warner Bros didn't want to do anything more with Supes recently!
And it's probably one of the best modern comic book series, with Superman having his 12 challenges and all that...

Next up will be Green Lantern: Emerald Knights. For a June 2011 release.
There's been lots of confusing informations about this one, and noone's really sure what it will be about.
But my guesses would be either a follow-up to the first Animated Movie First Flight, an anthology series like Gotham Knight (hey! both have "knight" in the title!) or some new movie under a different design/plot/direction.
People seem to think it will be a prequel to the movie or something with only aliens (no human GL)..but this kind of sounds weird...
And some other dream it would be an adaptation of the comic going by the same name. Err..I don't think so! (think about it 2 seconds..)

Remember this one?

And finally there will be an adaptation of Batman: Year One.
It has a release date of September 27, 2011.
This one could turn out great!

I'm kinda sad only Superman and Batman projects seem to come out of this line of DC Animated movies now... And Green Lantern too, but no surprise there since he's one of the top selling books now and has a movie coming out soon too.
Why no Batgirl animated movie? That one was canceled...
Oh and wouldn't a Green Arrow Year One make a great movie too??

There's also a new animated short announced, Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam.
But this one will...sigh...be only for the DC Showcase compilation DVD/Bluray... Why, oh, why!! We have those shorts already!!
They better had a lot of exclusive shorts if they wanna make me buy this one!

And finally, there's a new BATMAN show coming out for around the 3rd Nolan's Batman movie release date.

Not much clear info there. It may be 3D (ugh...), it may feature the whole Bat-family finally...
