Men's World Championship Final
Sunday, September 4, 6 am
The guys you should be cheering for:
GWIN
STROBEL
ROPELATO
RIFFLE
BINGGELI
KEENE
WARREN
The guys you should not be cheering for:
****LORD OF THE RINGS WAS FILMED IN NEW ZEALAND. IF YOU DIDN'T GET THAT REFERENCE YOU SUCK****
The way I figure it, here are the real contenders:
Gwin: The obvious pick. Totally on form, five wins under his belt, and no reason to stop now.
Gee: He won here last year in the rain. A very talented rider on super technical tracks. That's exactly what he'll be racing on if it rains.
Fabio: He's a World Champs specialist. This race is his last hurrah, and he's won races out of nowhere before (Maribor, 2009).
Danny Hart: This kid's on a roll. Give him a track that's wild and dangerous, and watch him get to work. Tons of potential.
Slam Hill: He came back from a horrific injury to win World Champs last year. Don't count on a repeat, but definitely don't rule one out.
Brendan Fairclough (maybe): The kid is talented, and this is one of his favorite tracks of all time. He's been out of form all year since his knee injury, but I wouldn't count him out. He could win.
Me: Sure I'm still at home, sitting on the computer. Sure I haven't booked a flight yet. But what if one of our guys can't handle the pressure and cracks? When Cougar cracked on his sortie, that's how Maverick got into Top Gun. Once I'm there, I have no pressure to do well, and I have the element of surprise in my favor. I'm a shoe-in. The only real question is which of my close friends will have to die before I can self-actualize.

DC News! Arkham City + Superman movie news
Here's some DC Comics-related news!
First up, a look at some alternate costumes from the upcoming Batman: Arkham City game!
I don't like the fact they're sort of annoying fans by planning all these superb costumes for the game.
Besides the ugly "way too realistic" Batman Beyond skin and the Batman Strikes Again skin (but that's because I have to admit, I'm absolutely not a fan of Frank Miller and his "famous" alternate-future storyline), they all look great. The current comics (pre-reboot!) Batman Inc-style costume and 70s blue Batman are fantastic! And the cartoony Bruce Timm-Batman is quite kickass. They all sort of make the in-game actual default model looks boring (though I like its big pointy bat-ears).
And why is it annoying (as I wrote above)?
Because the game won't come with all these inside, nor the Deluxe/Collector's Edition.
They're currently all planned pre-order bonuses. Now, I know America's all crazy about pre-order, etc. But the rest of the world, that is 88% of the rest of us (not counting some big cities in Canada, Australia, etc.) don't use to pre-order. So we won't be able to get those. Except through the later DLC, which is even miles away from "good". I mean, I'd love to play as the modern or blue-ysh Batman, but I'm sure as heck not paying extra REAL LIFE cash for a virtual costume for Batman :/
Anyway, on another note...
And it seems secondary playable characters will also get extra costumes.
Such as Robin!
Since his reveal, lots of fans were disappointed by how ugly and gangsta he looked. I mean it was terrible!
It's supposed to be the 3rd "90s" Robin, Tim Drake. But he looks like a mix between a bad criminal/Unreal Engine-designed young thug and current 4th/5th-ysh Robin Damian Wayne.
I've seen lots of fans trying to fix his model, simply with colors and minor alterations.
But thanks to the alternate costumes (DLC/Pre-order bonuses as well) you'll be able to play with either the cartoony Bruce Timm-inspired Robin and his "Red Robin" persona (pre-reboot as well!) which I'm a big fan of!
Superman now!
You remember that reboot by Zack Snyder, Superman: Man of Steel?
We couldn't have a clear look, see how his costume would actually look like in that promotional shot...
Well, not anymore thanks to these leaked pics:
Looks like this September reboot/relaunch/retcon's costume from the comics...
No red pants, messy details/lines....

Anime NEWS! EVANGELION 3.0 trailer
So, there's been these modern takes/movies on Evangelion.
While the first one recapped the series while adding to the canon, and the second one started going off road with the story, this 3rd movie will be going into all-new threads/directions!
Evangelion: 3.0 Q Quickening, the third entry in the "Rebuild of Evangelion" movies project, will be out in late 2012.
Here's a little sneak peak/trailer:
Badass! Asuka (aka my least favorite character - true!) gets an eyepatch!
Keep those movies comin' :D

Deleted Scenes - What the Wonder Woman series might have looked like PART II
So, the pilot to the Wonder Woman that never aired has finally been leaked over the internet....
And it's as "EPIC" as we all thought it would be....
Watch some of these scenes, it's priceless!
Thank god it was canned!
But somehow, I think given enough episodes to be developed, it might have been good at some point...oh well....we'll never know for sure!

Barbara Walters interviews the TMNT
Here's something random:
Damn'!
I loved those old turtles costumes! Much more credible than any CGi Star Wars, Avatar or Lord of the Rings creature.
Why didn't they use them again for that 3rd awful live TMNT movie....

AwesomeCosplay Pic of the day: The Real Ghostbuster
Leaked pics!! First Pic of Ghostbusters 3!!
Nah! I'm kidding!
It's just Bill Murray scr£wing us around.
He's still pretty much against the idea of another Ghostbusters, even more now than ever.

GreatCartoonMoments - The Ballad of the Daltons "Train Scene"
This is from the classic animated Lucky Luke movie, "The Ballad of the Daltons".
Now, bear with me, this is the original undubbed French version of this movie.
Anyway, I adore this scene! Great timing, the animation was pretty decent for the mid-70s and the music's just perfect.
I just love the way it gets crazier over the arrival of the train the Daltons are planning to attack.
Check it out!
I didn't upload this one, so I can't offer you direct translations over the image. But it should be pretty understandable even for non-French speakers.

Ghostbusters Week!! - The Real Ghostbusters Promo
We all know there was a pretty famous Ghostbusters cartoon in-between both movies.
What not all of us know is that it evolved a lot through production, from it not being called The Real Ghostbusters (name changed due to another cartoon using that name already) through it various iteration's tone being more simplistic/funnier or even darker/more serious.
This promo which was tested with audiences before the cartoon production had a tone a tad bit darker/more realistic (note the costumes closer to the ones in the movies unlike in the actual cartoon) and the Ghosts design being closer to the movies. (even Slimer doesn't look like the cute mascot he ended up being):
Most of the scenes here ended up in the cartoon's opening introduction.

ComicPageOfTheWeekend: Animal Man's wife Vs. the Mirror Master
If I remember correctly, I took these off from Saranga's blog.
Here's Animal Man's wife, the kickass Ellen Baker, kicking the ass (in fact) of classic Flash Rogue Mirror Master! Hell Yeah!
3 things I love! Animal Man. Flash villains. And playing around with stereotypes :P

And if you dig this Wonder Woman villain as much as me, don't miss that original story arc that defined him.

Fanboysm aside, it's kinda bad. I mean pretty ugly. Stylistically and iconographic-wise.
It's not modern or anything, just...a very "busy" design.
Why are Hollywood stylists currently over-designing costumes in movies lately?...
