So after lots of rumors concerning the upcoming Ubisoft title Assassin's Creed III, with a concept rumored to be an actual design for new character leaked on the internet...Ubi finally came forward and confirmed the news!
So apparently it will feature the American Revolution this time around.
UK and US sodliers fighting in the background 'n' all.
Honestly?
My opinion? Well I find it kinda sad. And boring.
I mean, sure, I can imagine over-patriotic random gamers and cliché Americans on the internet crying glory and all that stuff...
But I much preferred the Crusades, or Italy in the 15th century. These were much more exotic and original settings.
Do you really wanna see natives getting pushed out of their land and/or Americans taking territory, etc.
Americans owning slaves. Natives getting kicked out of their lands by both US and UK white dudes.
Whatever side the main character will be on, it will be quit a depressive era. Think about it.
Plus, come on, there's much more interest eras and places to see.
Also, the more I think about it, the more I'm guessing this time won't be much explored.
We might either visit various other places in time and space, and the main plot/game might take place with Desmond in 2012. The game's supposed to be the last of the trilogy, being released near the date the story's been taking place all this time.
We might either just glimpse over that period picture in the above cover or flash through various other moments in time.
Our new "ancestor" looks part Native America, from the looks of his outfit at least.
Poor guy won't be able to stop an invasion by both Britain and "so-called Americans" either. Poor guy..
I'm guessing if this new character is only briefly visited, either because of other visited eras or because of Desmond's plot, I'm pretty Ubisoft will feature him in various spinoffs, like Ezio and Altair before...
Anyways, this game will be released by the end of the year, in October 30 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
