COMICS NEWS! Games, new shows and big budget movies...

Hey gang! Here some fresh news for today! Mostly comic-related stuff...

First of all, Spider-man new game!
Do you know there was a new Spider-man game coming out soon?
Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions.

It's a brand new Spidey-adventure across 4 dimensions (different Marvel universes) where you'll be able to control 4 different incarnations of Spidey with each their own unique gameplay.
I'm kinda interested in this one, since the last good Spidey games I remember playing were Spider-man on the Dreamcast and Ultimate Spider-man on the Xbox...

Well, there's a brand trailer showing some unique takes on some Spider-man villains for the two known specific universes:

Kraven will be a foe for the regular Spider-man.
Hammerhead will be featured on the Spider-man Noir dimension.
And Norman Osborn (the Green Goblin) looks like the multi-dimension affected and mutated him... I don't really like this one... Where's his goddamn' goblin costume?!

Anyway they still have two more universes to show us. People are already calling for the Marvel Apes or Marvel Mangaverse or the Marvel Zombies universe.. but it seems unlikely.
Let's be realistic, it should stay PG-12 (no, the noir is stylish but not gore!) and should offer a proper original gameplay. Spider-Ape or Manga would simply play identically to our regular Peter Parker.
I'm more expecting to see Miguel O'Hara/Spider-man 2099 which is quite unique, visually and universe-wise. Plus he can glide, use "claws" and much more fun stuff.
Ultimate Spider-man could look great (in cell shading) but wouldn't offer something different...
Perhaps an original universe instead? Something the developers could work with and be creative? We'll see...

I like comics, I like 2D games, I like side scrollers and over everything I like material games over digital current releases.
So here's the strange surprise of the day:

Batman the Brave and the Bold the videogame! (what a name!)
This one will be a 2D sidescroller multiplayer adaptation.
Quite a surprise!
*imagine playing any of the "guests" featured on the cover above!*
Some haters are already calling names after this one, saying it should be a wiiware/XBox live release.
Come on guys! Be realistic! Would kids buy this one more easily live, with their parents in a mall, or through digital release??

Anyway, I'm quite happily surprised to see some good modern 2D (over cheap 2,5D) action!
Enjoy:

Moving on.
I'm a huge fan of the graphic novels The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman.
It's going to be adapted into a live tv series, something much better and practical for this kind of story.
I hope this zombie post-apocalyptic survival tale turns out okay in live action... Anyway, here's a little promo for this upcoming adaptation:

Finally, the movie Captain America: The First Avenger is really coming out next year on July 22, 2011.

We finally have a good look at the Cap's second costume in the second part of the movie (from what we can understand from bits here and there, the movie will have two distinct story-parts as well as two costumes for the Cap - one during WW2 and a second in our modern era).

Captain America live costume adaptation from promo material. Probably SEGA videogame adaptation.

As you can see, those renders use Chris Evans face, the dude who's gonna play the Cap.
Not my first choice, not really happy with the casting here... I hope he does his job well!!
Bruce Banner/E. Norton and Tony Stark/R.Downey Jr. were pretty good match... You got a lot to live up to Mister Evans!!

Finally we can see that the Cap's costume is pretty well adapted for the live movie. In picture, in motion, it should appear pretty epic.

That's all folks for today~
