NEWS! Some gaming and movie stuff for this week 's end.

Hey guys and gals!
Here's some new news about some epic games, comic movies and something moar.

Warning! This is not live action Hal Jordan!! *phew! thank god!*
First of all some gaming.

Sega & PlatinumGames new colaboration is one of my highly expected titles for this year.
I loved Mad World, my bro loved Bayonetta. What is this team of ex-Capcom employees working on now?
It's called Vanquish, it's aimed for the PS3 & Xbox 360, it's not your usual typical 3rd person shooter like Gears of War (no multiplayer!), it will be a very dynamic crazy stylish game not unlike Capcom's own P.N.03 and it's directed by Resident Evil and Viewtiful Joe director, Shinji Mikami.

Here's the first real trailer (not a teaser like the previous video):

Can't wait to see more about this one!

If you like action games and rpg-ysh/adventur-ous ones as well, you've probably already played or at least heard about Deus Ex 1 or 2, the archetypal model for this generation's Mass Effect or Fallout 3.
There's a brand new trailer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, coming later this year.
I hope the Square part of Eidos current owner and publisher, Square Enix, won't push this one out to soon nor influence too much it's development.

From this trailer, the game is looking pretty okay and very neat.
Then, it's only a CGi trailer, not much gameplay or real content in here.
Anyway, this looks pretty epic so far!

Now here's a very random one.
I've never been a fan of the concept of both the Guitar hero nor Rock Band games. In fact I haven't tried them ever. And won't ever need to. Period!
Sorry but it isn't my type of game. I would rather prefer a real game with real gameplay, play a real instrument (which I do) or if I really wanna play a music game, something more imaginative like Space Channel, Parappa the Rapper, Samba de Amigo or something alike...

Now, if you like adventure games, you probably know Tim Schafer. And you've probably tried his latest rockin' adventure/action game, Brutal Legend.

How does this all relate to the trailer I'm going to show you below?
The new Guitar Hero game is going to have an adventure mode.
That's right. They made so many Guitar Hero/Rock Band games that to keep people interested in mass buying them each time, they finally have to be creative. How did they work that out? By simply ripping off Brutal Legend! Here's the first announcement trailer to Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.

I'm not interested in this one out, at all.
Just wanted to show you a trailer for this girst GH game to have a quest mode.
Kinda reminds me of when Mortal Kombat tried adding a Konquest mode, only it turned out fun, fresh and random, not like blatant rip off something else.

Onto the movie side now!

Finally a first look at some Green Lantern movie promo material!
Like the cover you could see at the top of this post for a magazine cover (check the first "movie" view of the Lanterns' ring!)

A teaser poster! The GL logo seems to be taken directly from the comics, which is nice.
The Lantern logo itself looks neat-o with the incorporated ring. Pretty decent picture I'd say, but a bit standard.

More promo. Kinda sad how Wonder Woman was taken out of the big 3 (DC's trinity of Supes, Bats and previously WW).
This will probably run inside some comic issues.
There's a lot of GL stuff alongside the vaste DC comic heroes. Like Golden Age Alan Scott, Guy Gardner, Sinestro and Star Sapphire!
Funny trivia, Aquaman, Flash and WW look like they're ready to have their movie next, being so close to the 3 current best seller ones with the movies around.

Moving on, still on DC Comics.
Geoff Johns, one of my favorite DC writers, currently own the fancy title of Chief Creative Office.
His direct input is taken into account for DC mutlimedia characters and he can make importan decisions on the current adaptations (cartoons, shows, movies, games..).
He just had an interview for Newsrama lately  where he talked about the adaptations he would like to see next.
Not the real movies that are going to be made next, like the always mentioned Wonder Woman or the finally confirmed The Flash.

His favorite picks?
He said he would love to see the current Blue Beetle, Jaime Reyes, being made into a movie.
Or the team Suicide Squad.
And as for non DC prints? He suggested Wildstorm's Sleeper or Vertigo's 100 Bullets being made into movies or tv shows.

Take note that those are "would be" choices, his favorite picks.
He didn't confirm any of those would really be adapted.
I'm just glad the man will be around to help the translations stay true to their source materials.

Finally,
A new Shrek movie came out?! When?! Nobody told me!
It's not like I woulda miss the opportunities to know it, I've been out a lot but didn't see any posters around here, and I've seen a lot of movies but didn't see any trailer (they just keep re-playing that awful A-Team trailer here...).

Shrek versus the Troll doll

Anyway, this Shrek Forever After is apparently out.
I liked, on some level, kinda, the previous 3 Shrek... And I'm absolutely not one to like CGi movies. I usually avoid those. (Yes. I prefer my animation 2D! Deal with it!)

If you live in another dimension or managed to avoid any info or marketing promo for this one before, here's a trailer for it:

Anyway, that's all for the day! Take care~
